Last night someone called my friend the "N" word, comments ? ⚔️

No, I do not make this stuff up people. This is life in the city. So we were on the boardwalk here on the beach just hanging out. And it was a nice, calm, quiet soothing warm September evening. The time was about 10 pm and I was about to head in for the night. There were a few people still out and about like every night here. Since it is after Labor Day
its not as busy. My friend who is a Black guy, was sitting on one of the boardwalk benches talking to his White guy friend.
We call him Shaman. Because he actually is as he is mixed with Native American. Now, I dont know how this all started, but theres this redneck wanna be Black man, who is actually White. Hes like a built looking guy as well as his Black friend who we call Buckwheat cause his hair is like a small afro. Both of these guys are muscular and are in comparison to class B wrestlers. They both looked well over 200 pounds. So I was just sitting there looking at the waves and looking through my phone. All of a sudden, I heard the guy talking very loudly as if he wanted to fight my friend who was about 60 feet away. He started saying that my friend was a punk and that he was all talk. Ya know guy stuff. My friend told him to just walk away before he gets up and beat his brains out. The Shaman just sat there and smiled. He's a tough guy too. 🙂 So as the White redneck guy was walking away he uttered this.
You aint nuthing to me boy. You effing N word. I heard that and I stood up. He was in the sand dunes, and did not walk pass me, as he has talked to me before. His Black buckwheat looking friend did, and he did not say a single word.
I gave him and that guy my Clint Eastwood look. And I walked towards them but they kept going. I thought to myself, its not worth it. Just let it go. So I turned around to go talk to my friend, and he told me he was ok and to let it ride.
And I did, because believe me, I had some bad thoughts in my head and was gonna do something I probably would regret later. What do you think ? Did I do the right thing. You tell me. 🙂

if that dude said it walking away, he is a coward. i know it wasnt satisfying at the time, but you did the right thing. fighting that dude could have several different outcomes, many of them bad. if he continues his actions, it wont end well for him in the long run. he will eventually end up on the wrong end of a bad situation and end up gettin shot, arrested, or worse.

@YourMomsSecretCrush Yeah. Hes very confrontational to random people here. Hes a drunk ok. But hes tough. However there is always somebody tougher. I fear he might say something to the wrong guy there and get his face punched in. 😂
@Zonuss alcohol definitely leads to stupid people doing stupid things. always has. always will.

You did the right thing. I would have gotten myself arrested.

I think we need to challenge racists but know how and when (taken into consideration the environment).
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@plinkplonk Yes, I agree. Whats funny is that his friend was a Black dude. 😂
Any group of people can be racist, whites, blacks, mexicans and so on. Id like it to stop one day.
Ive been with a black friend and both of us got looks like we did something wrong, him more than me. Yes all ethic groups commit crime but that is the individual person.

I think you showed you are the bigger man , your friend also. Because you realized love is stronger than hate is. We all bleed red, all of us have problems and challenges. I think the guy who said it is scared of not knowing someone and scared of a man he knows nothing about.
You showed strength
th3r0n · 41-45, M
Ignorance and hate are on the rise in general, unfortunately racism is just one extension of hate
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@th3r0n Yes it is. Unfortunately.
he was looking for trouble & you did the right thing by ignoring him. he's not worth a drop of sweat. but does make your blood boil. sadly violence is exactly what he was craving from you. maybe he has a gun or knife & was hoping you'd fall for his trick, you never know.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@lovelywarpedlemon Yeah youre right. Or maybe we were armed, too. 😛
@Zonuss oh I see lol. Well you all are strong men. especially since you had the strength to stay composed in the face of hatred and his vile comment. Idk what the answer is to the larger issue of racism but I know that acts of violence inflame hatred, which makes it seem impossible to fight back at times. It's a disease. But I'm glad more people are talking about it and not sweeping it under the rug.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@lovelywarpedlemon Yeah its good to talk about it for sure. Thank you.
Quimliqer · 70-79, M
The thing about this that bothers me the most, number one I despise anyone using that word, number two is the blacks use it constantly, cinema, rap it doesn’t matter.
@Quimliqer Just a few of them.
I think it's admirable that you were willing to do something, but smarter to NOT do it. You showed loyalty & it meant something to the two of you.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@SomeMichGuy Agreed.
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
You did right. Ppl that use the N word...in my experiences...are mostly cowards. Lots of talk and no show.
It's not worth getting hurt, arrested, or killed over an ignorant, racist POS.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@DreamyCrush You're right.
calicuz · 56-60, M
You did the right thing by doing what your friend wanted you to do.
DownTheStreet · 56-60, M
There’s always that idiot
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@DownTheStreet Yes there is. It's very real the things people of color deal with in their lifetime. 🙂
It is awful and people should know better.

It is never easy to know what to do or say in a situation like that . A few months back i had someone racially abuse me as i walked down the street.

You have an advantage as a man to have a choice to do nothing. If i chose to respond, as a 5ft female being yelled at by a white male he could easily batter me physically.

It left me feeling helpless.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@InOtterWords Carry a weapon at all times when you are out.
@Zonuss no
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
Absolutely, though I am sure you FELT otherwise. Ultimately, though, there's no reaching such a small brain, and many times, a thing like that is never over. There's either legal proceedings, or those guys run up on your guys....

You probably saved yourself a lot of grief. Self-control like that is not easy.
REMsleep · 41-45, F
Not surprising when people feel emotional they try to hit you where it hurts by saying something that they know we'll get a rise out of you. And it is funny that people who try try to emulate a particular culture or appropriate it they will often resort to racist insults if they feel rejected or insulted.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@REMsleep He sounded like a very wounded and belligerent man.
CorvusBlackthorne · 100+, M
I keep my talons sharpened for just such an occasion.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@CorvusBlackthorne As you should. 🙂

@SW-User Nobody complains like a white man.
Peaceandnamaste · 26-30, F
@SW-User Not all black people are like that, what are you talking about? You shouldn't judge people by the color of their skin only by the content of their character.
