What is the single most disturbing, creepy, scary, or unsettling place you know of or have been to?
What's the most terrifying experience you've ever had?
Mine probably pales in comparison to others, but here it is:
Last summer, I was on my way to a job interview, driving on a mildly congested highway. I was in the right-hand lane, and the driver three or four cars in front of me was driving considerably slowly, and was swerving all over the place. One by one, the drivers in front of me began to pass this seemingly inebriated guy. Soon enough, it was my turn to pass him as well. I signaled, drove into the passing lane, and moved up parallel to him when he suddenly began to swerve into my lane. In a panic, I laid on the horn and brakes, and jerked the wheel to the left to try to avoid a collision. I then started to spin out-- tires screeching, rising up onto two wheels, consecutive 360s, the whole shebang. I could see and hear other cars swerving, trying to avoid me as well. I don't know if it was pure luck, my somehow managing to remember what to do in a spin-out (don't slam on the brakes or jerk the wheel), or maybe a combination of both, but I somehow miraculously wound up in the ditch dividing both sides of the highway. I didn't hit or injure anyone else, flip over, or hurt myself.
My life didn't flash before my eyes or anything like that, but I remember thinking, "I'm going to die."
