Do u have a " firestick " in your home at this present time ? 🔥

I recently got acquainted with all of this new age streaming crap. Don't get me wrong, I was actually surprised at the range and technological advances that the antenna tv had made. And I was getting 40 channels on average, too.
At night it would be as high as 45-50. But once I was introduced to the firestick I realized it was a real game changer.
But I don't do the Netflix or Hulu thing. Only free tv apps are rolling at the present time. But anyway, I notice that some people have the firestick and some do this through their pc or phone. And some just have that new uh smart tv or Roku. What do you have ? I'm listening. 🙂

I've used fire sticks for years.
Never had reason to not, they hold everything I want.

Now the fire cube, as a device, is a piece of shit. don't ever let yourself talk yourself into that.
I also now have a fire TV, which I do not like. stick with the fire sticks.
Dont forget to restart them occasionally.

Won't do it. Most especially since it's through Amazon or any of the major websites. You're paying double because of bandwidth which for some weird reason no one seems to care about any with streaming services.

I refuse to sacrifice the bandwidth just for TV.

Also no one seems to care about their data being sold on any streaming service. Amazon has got to be worse though.

@DeWayfarer Really.🤔

@Zonuss I definitely am very much concerned about everyones data being unknowingly used.

It why am so against Google not to mention a whole lot of other major sites.

As to the bandwidth issues not everyone has unlimited data. It's actually still a minority that does. And why the federal government boosted up the bandwidth for this pandemic. It's still not unlimited and they are likely to even take that away soon.

Yes I have signed up for that yet they made the stipulations quite clear that it can end at any time.

I actually get six gigs of hotspot bandwidth. That's not a whole lot of data. Especially when you stream videos.

I have actually used a bit of that hotspot bandwidth when I got this new phone sharing the bandwidth with other devices that are still working, yet have no provider.

Yes, I've got an Amazon fire stick to convert my old TV/DVD player and it is very good and quite easy to use 🙂 Before that there was a device called a dongle which I refused to buy because of the silly name 😞

@SunshineGirl Its all in the name right. 😂

There’s a firestick upstairs and a smart tv downstairs. I move around on my streaming services, get one, watch what I want on it, get rid of it. lol It suits the way I watch tv. My husband likes his cable, so we still have that.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@JustNik Oh cool. Yes, some people still have cable. The taskmaster of television. 😂

Smart tv, gaming laptop, phone

Mostly use the smart tv or connect the laptop to the smart tv since it’s hooked to my 5.1 system (I’m not a man with a lot of money, I work on home electronics and sometimes kind customers give things)

I just bought a 65” Samsung OLED. I stream with YouTubeTV. The sound system is Sonos.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@Zonuss Except for dropping NESN, yes. That’s kind of a big deal up here. I did love cancelling my Cox cable “bundle” though. It saved me about $100/mo.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@Zonuss this is how thin it is…
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@Adogslife Wow.
SammyJo · 51-55, F
Yes, we've got one for our daughter's television upstairs. Pretty good. Pretty easy to use, hence why we got it for her.

☺️

@SammyJo Cool.
I have 3 Fire sticks. 2 for my home and 1 for the in law’s place under my account.

I used to before I purchased a smart TV on Amazon Prime Day.

@plinkplonk Amazon is a smart company.

@FoolishLuna Let me guess. You plug in the wire and the net just puts you on. The home internet that is. 🤔

I'm on my second Fire Stick; the old one would just "go to sleep" randomly.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@Zonuss Different animal. I have DVR capability with the IRD(cable box), but the quality on cable is crap, compressed to all hell. Satellite is the worst, most affected by weather(though internet is as well). I do like Netflix/Hulu/HBO Max, though their interfaces can be wonky.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@uncalled4 Yes, it is a different animal. As long as you have a solid internet connection the possibilities
are endless. And you have more options and original content which takes streaming to the next level. 🙂
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@Zonuss It's the future. That's why I work in streaming TV after having worked in broadcast. Sadly, I think once advertisers see commercial TV go away, it will shift more to streaming(as it already has).
