Do u think its ok to have a "Black" girl playing the Little Mermaid ? 🐠 🐟

Her name is Halle Bailey, sister of Chloe Bailey from the tv show Grownish. Now I'm gonna be honest with you people here. As a person of color, I felt like she should have turned this role down. Why ? Because The Little Mermaid just so happens to be, White. Just like Black Lightning, is actually Black. He is a comic book character. But anyway, this is just a good example of politics. That ugly evil thing that is used to divide and conquer people. What do you think ?
Should there be a Black girl playing the Little Mermaid. They could have just made an original version of a mermaid film so that is wouldn't cause so much friction for certain people. Right. You tell me. I'm listening.
Best answer wins. ☺️ 🐟

Fortunately when you are a school kid race doesn’t matter. And that’s how it should be when you are an adult or a parent taking your kid to see the little mermaid.

It’s only narrow minded adults who create racial prejudice.
@justanothername Are you familiar with the song "You've Got To Be Carefully Taught" from South Pacific? It's about exactly this.

@SomeMichGuy never heard of the song. Is South Pacific a movie?
@justanothername It is originally a musical by Rodgers & Hammerstein, based on a book by Micheber. Many musicals were made into movies, and this was, twice.

There's a little info at

@justanothername Actually you are right. Adults have that prejudice mindset because of what they were taught or exposed to over time.
