What do you miss the most from summer vacation when you were a kid?
What do you teenagers do during summer break?
I have a 16 year old daughter who doesn't really have a lot of friends. She is so bored during summer and I don't have a clue what to do. She tries to find people to hang out with but with no close friends it's just unanswered requests. What's the appeal of summer when you're an adult with a full time job?
I've never understood why other adults love the summer so much. We're doing the exact same thing we've done all year, except it's hot outside. We don't get two months of vacation like we did when we were kids. We're not staying out all night having fun since we usually have somewhere to be in the morning. Most of the daytime hours are spent working, so we don't really get to enjoy the sun. Are you really having a "summer fling" if you only really spend time with the person on the weekend?
Where are you spending your summer holiday?
Did you already book the hotel/accommodation?
Do you prefer going abroad for a summer holiday, or you prefer staying in your country?
Do you prefer going by car or by other means of transportation, for example planes?
I graduated high school in 2014 and immediately got a job and I haven't really enjoyed summer in the same way since. Same shit, different weather. I (14F) was gearing up for this summer to be the best of my life. I was planning on visiting my friends cottage and pursuing summer school. However, I couldn't go to my friends cottage because their cat caught an infection and I couldn't go to summer school because of technical difficulties. I swim 6 times a week in the morning and afternoon and still maintain a semi regular social schedule. Am I wasting my summer? I thought I’d be teaching summer school, but looks like I didn’t get it. Now I don’t know what to do with my summer!
Teaching summer school was a pretty easy gig, good money, and easy hours so I’m very disappointed! I’m single, all my friends work days, and I don’t have a lot of disposable income so trips are hard. Oh, also saving for a house in the next couple years so really don’t want to spend lots of money!
Is it bad that I will spend the summer at my parents house doing nothing?
So I'm a girl I'm 22 years old, and I just completed the first year of my master's degree. However this summer I have no plans to do anything, except maybe start working on my thesis, studying a language and reading, watching movies. That's all I intend to do this summer. I was thinking about getting some kind of summer job this summer but I don't think it's gonna happen. I talked to my mum about getting a summer job and she doesn't seem too enthusiastic about it, she said it s fine if I just work on my thesis and stuff. My question is, is it bad that I'm basically have no plans this summer?
What do you do over the summer? Any suggestions?
