Queen Elizabeth II just passed away just now, Buckingham Palace announces, what kind of thoughts are going through your mind when you learned of it?
As a person from the UK, is it such a terrible thing for me to be completely apathetic about the fact that the Queen is almost certainly about to pass away?
I feel like the expectation is there that we should all be very sad about this, but I can't help but wonder how many other 96 year olds in the UK that I don't know are going to pass away this winter due to not being able to heat their homes? And if they will do so as comfortably? I find that sad but I don't find this sad.
I know death is always a sad thing, but 96 years and passing away from natural causes is pretty damn good isn't it? Does the fact that I don't care even a tiny bit make me unpatriotic? A heartless monster?
My only mild concern is that I might have to shut my business for a few days, is that bad?
