What's the coldest you've ever been and how did you deal with it mentally?
What's the coldest temperature you've ever experienced and where where you?
I think just about everyone living in the Northern US is feeling that bitter cold right now. Even though it's 15 and abnormally cold in NY that's still pretty tame by some standards. The worst temperature I've ever experienced was -11 in New Hampshire a few years ago. I'll never forget that it was cold enough to freeze the snot inside my nose. What's the coldest temperature you've ever been in? Temperature-wise, what is the coldest (winter) and warmest (summer) you have experienced in your region? What is the coldest or hottest weather you've ever experienced?
For coldest, it was January 1994 in upstate NY. after a very snowy January (over 40 inches), it got very cold. Albany was -23F or something like that, but on my not completely accurate back porch thermometer, it was -38F. I was in 8th grade and that image is seared in my brain. The hottest, I'm not so sure. I lived in Kansas as a little kid, and I know it's gotten well over 100F there, probably around 105F or so. I'm a weather nerd, so I like talking about this stuff(my degree was in meteorology), so feel free to bring up other weather stuff too. What were you doing when you remember being the coldest you’ve ever been? What is the coldest and hottest temperature you've experienced and where was it that cold/hot?
