What ordinary moments did you enjoy during your summer vacation?

What did you do this summer? Did you work or go to camp? Commune with animals and nature? Pick up a book and laze about in the sun reading it? Or find creative ways to stay cool in the blistering heat? Maybe you tried something new or just spent time with old friends? Big or small, dramatic or quite ordinary, what were some of the highlights of your time off? Did you experience any “mundane joys” this summer? Share one or more of them. What made these “normal things” feel so wonderful and special? I am a 16-year-old student living in Ireland, so a good third of the summer will be bad days regarding weather. Also, I don't live on the coast. I feel like I drift through every summer without achieving anything, and with a feeling that I could have enjoyed it more. From your experience or your imagination, what are some ideas to help me enjoy more and achieve more with my summer?
How was summer 2022 different, if in any way, from recent ones? Was there anything you felt you missed out on during the previous two pandemic-disrupted summers that you were finally able to do? Ms. Grose writes that her kids weren’t looking for a “summer spectacular,” but seemed to be “absolutely tickled by getting to do all the normal things this summer, without interruption,” such as sleeping over at a friend’s house. Does her description resonate with your own experiences? Did seemingly normal and mundane activities mean more to you during this vacation? What is one emotion, insight, lesson or memory from the summer that you would like to carry with you into the new school year? How did you spend your summer vacation? What do you normally do in your summer holidays? Are you enjoying your summer vacation? What do you do during Summer Vacation while you're at work? What did you do over the summer as a teenager?
I'm bored out of my mind, and I've only been on summer break for 2 weeks. I'm so used to being occupied with schoolwork that the sudden absence of it is making me depressed. I really need something fulfilling or productive to do. I can't get a job because nobody is hiring people like me: under 18 with no prior experience in the industry. I mean, how am I supposed to get experience if nobody will hire someone without experience? It's very frustrating. Anyways, I'd appreciate any suggestions or anecdotes pertaining to this. I'm going to go insane if I don't do something soon. How will you spending your summer vacation? What is a fun activity to do during summer vacation? What's your ideal summer vacation? How do you spend your summer breaks?
It's my first year as a teacher and after several years working full time I'm not used to have a summer break not working and not having any other obligations. What are some of your own Summer traditions (they can be yours only, your family's or common in your country)?
Personal
It can be certain foods you ate while growing up or that you eat now, for the whole summer or on specific occasions: on the beach, after lunch, at breakfast... (e.g. focaccia for lunch. Gelato&Walk after dinner..);
A specific destination you used to go to which ended up equalling the season itself;
Common activities (e.g. hiking on a specific trail, with chocolate bars at the end. A stroll at sunset. Playing ping-pong in the terrace. open-air cinemas);
Certain movies or series that rerun in this season (e.g. years ago their aired the whole James Bond franchise);
Songs or playlists or albums that seem to come out cyclically (e.g. Festivalbar compilation);
A series of books or comics you read in a specific year and place, or the act of doing so in a specific situation (e.g. on the porch swing, next to te pool..);
Something you used to do during the trip (e.g. playing with the gameboy in the car, table games on the train, comics on the ferry, listen to a certain playlist/album..);
People you only met/meet during holidays and sort of exist only in that place;
Certain smells, or sounds, or colors that you link to Summers. In high school summer break is pretty simple. You get two months off in july-August and you do whatever you want. In university ik that school is off from april- august. So thats four months. I used to think that uni summer vacation is the same as highschool. As in you get to spend four months doing nothing (lol)! But I found out its not even called summer break but rather summer term. I also learned that most ppl dont just take that time off to relax. In fact i think at waterloo you’re required to take courses in summer if you are not in co-op (can someone confirm or deny this)
Most people do the following during summer:Work, co-op/internship, summer courses
Ik 4 months is a lot of time to just relax. So its smart to do something productive in the summer especially if you want to achive career goals. But my question is,
1) Does the summer term feel any different from the winter/fall term? Or are you just as busy in summer as you are in fall/winter (peak school season)? 2) how are the summer break in highschool different from summer break in uni? 3)Do you have free time to take a break? Go outside? Go on vaca even? 4)What are most ppl doing in the summer? I do this thing where I waste time and then afterwards go into a period of extreme self- loathing. I promised myself that I would so something productive over summer, but instead I already wasted half of it! School starts second week of August and I have nothing to show for my summer. I want to cry really badly and just give up and not do anything. I can't believe I let all this time go to waste again. I'm going to be a junior next year and I have to change my habits, but no matter how hard I try, I just can't. I hate myself for not doing anythinga and not getting anything done. Does anyone else hate summer vacation?
I honestly hate being away from school for 3 months. It’s not the work or classes that I miss, it’s the social interaction. The summer is great, but my friends are always gone, and my family loves to isolate me from my peers for about 1.5-2 months of the summer, which is always fun. How did you enjoy your last summer vacation? How did you spend your summer holidays during your childhood? What is your favourite part of summer vacations in your childhood? What is your favorite memory of a summertime activity, event, or experience? What are you doing during the summer holidays? What will you be doing during the holidays? What do you wish you will be doing during the holidays? How did your family celebrate the holidays in your childhood? Do you always do the same? What’s the most impressive thing your parent(s) have done? What is the most horrifying thing your parents have ever done? As a psychologist, who is the most disturbing individual you have ever met? What was the most bone-chilling sentence a loved one ever said to you? What's the most disturbing crime between loved ones you've heard of? What is the most horrifying thing your parents have ever done? What is the creepiest/shadiest thing that's happened in your hometown?
Taste of sweet buttermilk and restful sleep.
