How old were you when you first got into cooking?

How old were you when you started cooking and how old are you now? Also, what's the best dish you've made in your cooking career?
I started cooking when I was about 6 years old. I am now fourteen. I don't know which dish to pick so I'll put the top three.
Pizza
How old were you when you learned how to cook?
Fried Chicken Sandwiches
What age were you when you started cooking for yourself?
Additionally: what’s the easiest / best meal to make?
Burgers!
The most people I've served was 12 people. That was when I made the pizza as well as some garlic bread.
How old are you, how old were you when you started cooking, and why did you start?
I'm curious about what brings different people to the kitchen. I'm 25, and I started seriously cooking (beyond eggs and noodles) when I was around 13-14. I was bored home alone after school and I was also always hungry at that age.
How old were you when you became decent at cooking at home?
I am a 23 year old female who wasn’t taught how to make much while I lived at home. It’s been years now since I’ve lived in my own and while I don’t mind the crappy meals I make for myself, I get embarrassed when I try to cook for a date. I feel like I’m behind the curve. At what age did you become confident in your cooking?
How old were you when you first learned to cook and what was it?
How old were you when you started cooking for yourself? First dish? When was the first time you were ever interested in cooking? And what is the story behind it?
How old were you when you worked in a restaurant kitchen for the first time?
I don’t mean as dishwasher, but actually preparing food. Because everyone says they think I’m quite young for someone working in a kitchen. I don’t work in a professional restaurant, it was an ice cream shop with lunchroom (mainly outdoor seats).
How old were you when you got your first car, what was it, and where did the money come from?
Hey reddit! I'm 16 years old and I've had my license for about 6 months now. I'm just curious how many of you acquired the money to own your first car. My parents have told me that we cannot a third car, so if I want one I'll have to pay for the whole thing, gas, insurance, repairs, all that fun stuff.
How old is old to be cooking in a restaurant kitchen?
Basically just what the title says. I’m actually the kitchen manager at a sports bar and restaurant, but the manager is essentially like a head cook that does the scheduling and hiring and firing. I’m 42 and honestly I wonder how much longer I will be able to keep this up. Not just physically but mentally. Today with the temperature being 101 in the kitchen just makes me think about this even more. This isn’t a business for guys (or gals) to work up to retirement age.
At what age should a person start cooking for themselves?
I think cooking actual food is a life skill that everyone needs to acquire. I know that I don't like cooking for myself, since I use the microwave.
I’ve been a sous chef and executive chef at a couple restaurants before but I’ve always been in the kitchen cooking, never just in an office. Truth be told I don’t want a job in this industry where I’m always in an office.
How old were you when you had your first drink, and if you were underage, do you regret it?
Trying to decide if I should be preparing for a change of career.
How old were your kids when they started waking up and making breakfast on their own?
This is a super low stakes question. We have a 1-year-old and my husband and I were chatting about how many years of early weekend mornings we still have ahead of us until our son is old enough to wake up on his own, pour himself some cereal and watch cartoons while we sleep in. My husband and I both remember doing this as kids, but neither of us can remember how old we were when we started.
At what age did you learn to (actually) cook? What age did you start cooking for yourselves?
So parents, how old were your kids when they started waking up and making their own breakfast on weekends?
The oldest line cooks I’ve seen in my time in the business have been my age. I’ve only seen one chef who still cooked who was older than I am now. What do you think?
Is it normal that I don't know how to cook anything at 15?
I often brought myself down by looking at all my cousins, because all of them know how to cook, even cousins who are younger than me know how to cook lots and theres me who doesn't know how to do anything, all my parents can do about it is say "look at them they can cook you cant" and keep updating about everything they're getting good at. If I tried to learn how to cook, my family will just go straight to saying "you cant do that no stop that" instead of helping me learn anything, yet actually helps my little sister in the process. How old were you when you got your first job, and how long did it take to get it?
Pretty self explanatory, but im 18 and I am struggling to get a job. I've been applying since I was 16 and I've only gotten about 4 or 5 interviews and I have yet to get a job. I dont know if im doing something wrong or im just not applying for the right jobs. To help, I have applied for kitchen assistant jobs and bar staff jobs, so im not applying for jobs that require loads of experience. Any advice?
I only know how to eat edible plain grass.
You carry on.
