What gives you genuine hope for the future?

Whether it’s about your own future, the future of someone else, and/or the future of society as a whole. How do you keep hopeful about the future in today's world? What makes you have hope for the future?
In this time of the media constantly bombarding us with messages of the climate, economical and social emergencies around the world, what signs of hope do you have that we will be ok? What makes you have faith? Just wanting some reassurance that the world isn't entirely screwed, situation is pretty dire globally it appears and isn't reinforced by the numerous scientific papers I read....What makes you feel hopeful for the future? I’m not someone who believes “things happen for a reason,” or that “everything will work out the way it’s supposed to,” or that “it will be okay in the end.” All around me I see people who deserve so much better than they got in life. But, I’m in serious need of some hope. My pessimism is making life seem too hard, and I know there’s more to life than that! So, how do you keep a positive outlook in a realistic way? How do you stay hopeful for the future when things are tough? Look, I am a girl who was kicked out of grad school and told they were completely worthless. I have huge piles of snow student loans, a terrible retail job and seem to be incredibly targeted as a minority (I am trans).
I have good friends and loved ones, but they are all either super poor and stressed or increasingly creeped out by their bosses demanding more and more slavish devotion. I read all these things about technological Marvel's I will never be able to afford and people spending money on new ways to put me down instead of lifting me up...So why should I have hope for the future? Because right now I am feeling pretty screwed. How to stay positive/hopeful about the future?
Exactly what it says on the tin. According to my mom I am extremely negative about the future, but I do wonder if it’s a generational difference. I’m going to be 24 in a few days and she’s in her mid 50s. With things like the pandemic, climate change, fascism rising, divided countries, etc it feels impossible to stay hopeful for the future when I’m seemingly reminded all the time that it’s never going to be good again. Am I being overly negative or am I just realistic? I find myself genuinely distressed over the current situation of the world and it’s overwhelming. Any advice on how to think more positively? Or is it all doomed lol. Edit: thank you all for your insightful answers!
