2. Like any other friendship, both paying each other respect and having some sort of shared values.
3. I think it won't be a true friendship if you don't feel sympathies towards each other.
4. There's a huge difference between sympathies, empathies and loving someone romantically, you simply don't go there. It's back to #2, paying each other respect.
5. Having a partner isn't the same as having friends. The romantic aspect isn't included in the friendship. Each friend of ours contributes with something that others won't, that's why it's not unusual to have several friends.
