What's the line between a brutally-honest friend and a toxic friend?

It's better to be truthful than to let someone believe a lie. You’re doing them a favor in the long run. You don’t have to use the meanest words to be seen as frank, choose the right words to convey what you’re feeling.

Brutally honest do not have any hidden evil agendas alike toxic ones.

Maybe it's called tough love. At least it's honest. Tact is important though. It's better than toxic positivity that really does no-one any good, it just creates an illusion.
