Do you always keep a bottle of water near your bedside?

Do you keep water by your bedside? Do you sleep with a cup of water next to your bed?
Curious if other people sleep with a drink next to their bed every night. Do you bring water with you when you go to bed? Why or why don't you keep water next to your bed when you go to sleep?
I'm 20 and, after speaking to a couple friends, was told that it's considered "abnormal" to keep a jug of water by my bedside every night because I wake up dehydrated, dry mouthed, and with a headache? Also, in the morning when I get up I instantly drink water to jump start my metabolism. Do you keep a bottle/glass of water beside your bed when you sleep? How long do you leave a glass of water on your night stand or table before you feel it's too old to drink? What do you keep on your nightstand? What do you have on your bed-side table right now? Should I stop leaving a cup of water on his nightstand?
My son is almost 2 and we’re not even close to potty training yet. But I wonder if I should stop leaving a water on his nightstand at night in preparation?
I just worry about him not drinking enough water throughout the day and then he’s in bed for like 11-12hrs which feels like a long time without hydration.
He doesn’t usually drink the whole thing, at most half, usually 1/4. But he always drinks at least a little bit. My mom is in stage three kidney failure for a little background. She drinks six bottles of water a day to try to fix some of the issues with her kidneys. Tonight my parents yelled at me for having a couple unfinished (but almost) water bottles in my room that I use to take my medications every day. I need a fresh cold bottle of water every night to help me fall asleep. I normally drink the entire bottle by time the night is through with the exception of a few nights that I actually fall asleep at a reasonable hour. So what’s left of the bottles from those nights gets used for me to take my pills every day. Throughout the day I normally drink only one bottle of water a day 2 if I don’t have a soda to drink. My parents told me I’m hogging all the water by keeping them in my room when they are unfinished and continuing to get fresh bottles while my mom needs to drink way more water then I do. I don’t disagree with how much water she needs to drink but a few almost empty bottles that are getting slowly drank everyday shouldn’t be a big deal in my opinion. It’s not like I’m just letting them sit there gathering dust. And some days when I’m having a hard time getting out of bed (I have chronic pain) I do drink those warm bottles since they are much closer and easier to get. I’m aware of the plastic waste and I do what I can to offset this. I do not need a lecture about my plastic usage that is not what my post is about. I care about the planet as much as you all do and I try to do my part in any way I can and a lot of you say it’s not that hard to switch but when it’s a lifetime way of living it is hard. It is just like changing from being cheap and doing everything you can to save a penny and then suddenly having a good amount of money and not needing too. You’ll still be in that mindset to save every penny you can. It’s wired in my brain and that’s something that’s hard to change. I’d really appreciate if you gave your opinion on the situation not my plastic usage as this is not the topic of my post. I’m grateful for all the responses I have gotten but the majority of them are calling me an asshole for the fact that I use plastic bottles and not for the actual situation the post is about. Thank you x
