Do you have a journal or diary?

If so, what do you like to write about in it and why? Do you use it to keep track of joyful, difficult or memorable events in your life? Do you use it to process feelings? Give gratitude? Practice self-care? Do something else? If you don’t journal, have you ever thought of starting one but just didn’t know how? If you keep a journal, do you find it to be an effective self-care practice? If you don’t, why not? Does reading the article persuade you to try? What else do you do to process the highs and lows of each day? Do you create art, talk to people or participate in physical activities? How do these strategies help you? Melanie H. Morris, an assistant professor of nursing at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, calls journal writing “CPR for the soul.” Does that ring true for you? What do you see as the benefits of journaling? Has it ever helped you through a difficult or traumatic experience?
What do you think of Ms. Wollan’s advice and tips on keeping a journal? Do you think that recommendations like establishing routines, writing for 15 minutes several times a week or using prompts such as “write down three things you are grateful for today or three things that brought you joy” would help you become a journal writer, or a better one?
What advice would you give to others who are hesitant to keep a diary or not sure what to write about? Are there prompts you have used or would recommend to those who struggle to come up with a topic or focus their thoughts? I've been contemplating keeping a journal. I've never done this before. Keeping a journal for me always conjured up images of girly girls and effeminate men. But off late I feel like driftwood from a flotsam with no conception of time, each day identical to any other day.
I am hoping keeping a journal would give me time for reflection. But personally don't know of anyone who keeps a journal.
Do any of you keep a diary?
Do you have a diary/journal?
What sort of things do you write into it? Do you describe your day or do you focus more on your emotions and thoughts? Do you do it regularly or just every once in a while?
Do you keep a journal/diary?
I feel like everyone used to have diaries/journals when I was growing up, but now I barely hear about them. I had tons of diaries growing up, but stopped mid-teens. Only recently started trying to journal daily again. How many of you have diaries? Do you write in them daily/whenever you feel like it? Have any of you kept a separate diary journal to clean up your bullet journal or migrated one journal to two separate journals?
I started journaling last year using the bullet journal method. It was extremely helpful to me and started out of a need for structure in my life. I looked back on college and realized keeping a planner helped me get stuff done. So I started journaling and it was very structured at first. Then I wanted to write stuff down, memories or feelings, my notes progressively got longer. This quickly started getting looser and looser until the bullet journal basically evolved into a retrospective diary. That was also very cathartic and helpful for my life.
However, I've filled up my journal for this year. Now that I'm reviewing it and moving over to a new journal it's giving me a lot of clarity as to how much my journaling has changed. I want to keep a bullet journal and a daily "diary" type journal separately. But I really like having one place for everything, and I fear that separating these two things out will make the workload feel bigger or cause me to drop one. Have any of you experienced this (bullet journal turning into a theraputic diary type journal) and have any of you divorced them into two separate journals? I've been thinking maybe I can keep one bullet journal and have some sort of symbol in my entries to indicate a diary entry. But this might also be a pain to look back on. I'm not 100% sure what to do, so any advice is appricated! Why should I keep a journal? What are the benefits you have experienced by doing so?
I read it a lot of time that keeping a daily journal is really helpful. If you are also doing it, can you please share what was your life before and after this process? How did it change you? Thank you in advance. Do you keep a journal/diary and how often do you add to it?
I'm on what could be seen as Volume IV of my journals. They vary from daily, almost hourly use, to weekly, monthly, I find it therapeutic. And it gives me a chance to practice for myself as well as examine my own head in as honest a medium as possible. Has anyone ever read your journal behind your back? Where do you hide your journal?
A few years ago I woke up to a family member reading out my journal word by word over the phone to another relative. Luckily I had written names in code. To this day I can't find it in myself to write freely. Trying to get over it. Do you have journals dedicated to specific goals or topics?
I want to start Journaling this year and am thinking about keeping 3. One for gratitude, one for my thoughts on an author I will be studying just for kicks, and then a general journal. Is this something that anyone here has also done and what has your experience been like? Do you remember more clearly with a journal? Is it worth it to you?
For those of you have been using a diary/journal for awhile, do you feel like you are happy you recorded the events in your life? Do you find yourself looking back on all of your memories, or do you not really tend to flip through your writing/it doesn't provide much benefit overall? For me, I needed an outlet to vent during an extremely rough time, so I started writing things down until I began to use my journal as more than just a vent-book, and it became my first diary!
When and why did you start your first journal? I keep getting caught up in writing down all of my memories when I journal. I want to remember things that are small but meaningful. Now it kind of feels like a school assignment for me. So I'm wondering if maybe using a journal just isn't right for me and I'll have to find an alternative way to record my days. I just don't want to forget so many of the moments in my life.

Not since I was 16/17. My mother read it and took it triumphantly to the local priest who in turn took it to my girlfriend's house. Her mother was shocked but her father showed the priest the door. My girlfriend did her best to keep it quiet from me but from her changed personality I began to suspect the truth. My mother repeatedly denied doing it but my father eventually told me the truth in front of her. No more diaries. And I'm not telling what was in it.
I no more do it coz reviewing it is not always fun n laughter.
It makes me close minded n subjective while remembering the stuff that affected at a given time.
Life is Not in past but present is all that we All have.
I have seen the illeffects of turning pages of my gone time. So, i no more indulge.
