Don't you find it weird when people comment on posts that are years old?

The person may not have come online for weeks or months or years... yet you see some person here dropping a comment on one of their posts.

Do you check when the person was last online before you comment on their posts?

People comment on mine all the time and that’s okay

No. The fact its still visable indicates to me its available for comment.
Id assume people would delete things they dont want to to comment on.

@RubySoo If someone hasn't come online in months, chances are, they'll never read your comment
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@rrraksamam but plenty fo come back later...

@rrraksamam The poster might not but other people are presumably active in the conversation.

Depends on the character of the story. When I came to EP years ago, I commented on posts that were years old already because they were important to me personally. The author of the post responded with something along the lines they were already somewhere else in their life but if I had any questions they would tell me more, but even if they were gone, you never know who else might find the topic interesting or important to them.

No I don't pay attention to the age of the post. I forget to look. Usually these posts come up because someone else commented on it, so I assume its a new post.

@jshm2 exactly, I find it weird that they made up a rule that no one can't comment under a post that's at least 6 months old "because they moved on". If it's a good point I want to say something.
A few people go back in my poetry to comment. This happened more on EP than on SW. I never found it weird. People sometimes search for content. I would never check to see when the person was last online before commenting. I don't think that matters.

I found it a bit strange until I noticed that sometimes TOPICS appear in the column to my right If you CLICK on a topic, you will probably see old but interesting posts.

I don't find that weird. at all.
I hardly ever post a reply to a user who Hasn't recently commented on something I've posted or am following.

In those cases, it's not unusual for me to read the first post they've ever typed.
I'll also scroll through other pages of posts if they seem interesting.

I usually find something of a Red Flag type of thing and in the end of it, I never say a thing to them.

No. Sometimes it takes me that long to find them. Lol

EP used to have a last online date, without you having to pay for it. It's perfectly normal to interact with someone's older posts, but it wouldn't make much sense if they haven't logged on for years.

I do that often

I find it really weird especially when the post is 4 years old. I realized that some posts are oldies but goodies so they’re worth commenting on after decades. 😅

Not at all , i like seeing old posts i have missed . 🌻
Not really. Old posts appear in my feed occasionally and sometimes I’ve replied a second time, by accident. 😳

I try to check the dates, just in case.
