How did you end up in your career path and are you happy with it?
Particularly those with uncommon/obscure careers, how did you wind up doing what you do? How did you get into the career/job you’re in now?
I’m currently really stressing about my future. I’m struggling to know what I want to do and what career path to take. Currently in full time retail work after dropping out of college a few months ago, waiting for apprenticeships to start in full swing again. I feel so lost :/ I’m scared this is all I’m going to do for the rest of my like (nothing wrong with it, I just don’t want it for myself personally). How did you come about your careers, fresh out of school? How did you choose your job if you weren't passionate about anything? Ever been hired into a job that was over your head? What did u do?
I was recently hired into a company who I am very excited to work for. There are going be countless learning opportunities which is great for me.
That being said there are growing pains that come along with learning opportunities and I just don't want the time I spend learning a new technology to be seen as a lack of expertise leading to me losing my job. I was very open about my skill level during my interviews so my shortcomings were made clear, but now that I'm in the position the places where I'm not confident are being treated as if I am by my managers and coworkers. I can't lose this job. I'm spending time at home labing to learn but some technology I am unable to emulate or purchase. Anyone been in a similar situation? How did you deal with it? I feel like im going to vomit because of what is at stake. Just to expand on that a bit: When and how did you decide what you wanted to do with your life? I feel like I'm working a job that I barely tolerate and have no clue what to do with myself or how to do it. I'm sure I'm not the only one kind of lost trying to find a career they love. How did you choose your career path?
