@SW-User I went there with my cousin. We had hotel reservations, but when we got there my cousin decided the room was way too expensive. She was from Utah, and was used to cheap and reasonable prices.
I still shudder when I think of the hotel she found for the three of us...the Dixie Hotel. It was $110 a night, and the door to the room didn't lock. We had to move a highboy in front of it. I think it was one of those places where prostitutes bring their Johns. SO glad we didn't have a black light.
We didn't go out to eat at all, because we couldn't afford it. Instead we ate hot dogs from street vendors.
