Why do people get upset at being blocked?

Perhaps there is more to it than I'm aware but who cares if someone that you probably having nothing in common with and would never talk to blocks you?
What am I missing?

It really depends on the scenario…I guess it’s a form of rejection. Some people take that personally, some don’t.
