A modest proposal ...

Each day of the week end in'day'... And it's redundant.
Why not just call them Mon or Tues... Think how much more efficient it would be.

Each day of the week is devoted to an ancient deity. Wednesday ( Middle English Wednesdei, Old English "wōdnesdæg") refers to the Germanic deity Wodan. Interestingly, in German it's "Mittwoch", literally meaning "Midweek", which sort of makes sense. In French it's "mercredi", "day of Mercury".

@ozgirl512 I approve of your quest for efficiency, but I also like to be reminded of the connection to older tongues that helenS described above 🙂
