Putin says only 10% of his military force is in Ukraine. What message is he trying to send?

well russian losses are a lot higher then ukrainian losses... and there are getting more and more weapons into ukraine every day
TheArbitrator · 36-40, M
@Madgirl Russia has lost only about 2-4 thousand troops and they have managed to take half the country with only about 180,000 troops. That's not too bad.

@TheArbitrator they moving their army through the country... that doesnt mean they control any of it but a few towns.

@TheArbitrator also...

the human life losses are debatable as it is very hard to tell how bad a soldier is injured... but the losses on material are quite accurate and easy confirmed

@Madgirl To begin with, US military officials who assessed Ukrainian military might suggested Russia would need at least 800,000 troops to capture major cities in Ukraine. It looks like they are going to do it with only 180,000. That's impressive to me. Ukrainian military isn't completely outdated. They have over a million active and reserve servicemen, stinger and javelin missiles and jet fighters, plus the civilians who are armed with guns and Molotov cocktails. Ukrainian military is continuing to get artillery through Poland from the West and despite that, Russians are moving forward. I would expect some losses on Russia side. They're going to get some kills. It is surprising that Russia has gotten that far into the territory.

@TheArbitrator conquering and controlling are 2 completely different things. the war wont stop just because they occupy the parliament in kyev...
TheArbitrator · 36-40, M
@Madgirl The war will end when Ukraine surrenders. That will be soon enough with millions fleeing the country, no food or power. 5 days tops. Surrender is in order.

@TheArbitrator uhm.. no.. there is no way ukraine will possibly surrender short of a genocide. either russia gets rid of putin, or they sign a bullshit peace agreement where russia enforces the annektion of the krim and and donezk area and at the same time ukraine will get guaranteed by the nato. which imo would be the best solution for everyone involved.

@TheArbitrator the russian invaders are pretending they have not lost any of their thugs... let’s see how they explain their losses to Russia’s mothers. The gangster régime lies as a routine behaviour, so will probably report that 12,000 of Russia’s children died in accidents, or committed suicide, or deserted, or... whatever lie seems convenient.

@TheArbitrator
going to do it with only 180,000
So putin sent in an undermanned force... it’s no wonder the russian attack has stalled. The murderous autocrat putin thought this would be a few days, and that his thugs would be welcomed with flowers and music. Instead his war is now more than two weeks old, his gangster state is hurtling towards bankruptcy, the world supports Ukraine, and his army is barely moving.

Because he is desperate, putin will now tell his thugs to attack the civilian population much, much, more than they already do. Big mistake. Huge!

@TheArbitrator Even if Ukraine surrenders, the insurgency will continue for years. As long as Russians occupy their soil, the Ukrainians are going to resist. I don't know what Putin expects to gain here. He could have accomplished so much more in other ways. And his country's economy is a mess now. His pals are upset because they're losing their ill gotten gains. Plus.... you can't even get a big Mac in Moscow. That's gotta hurt...
