GPS apps or siri or whatever should only be used as a last resort if you are truly lost. IF there is an obvious way that is direct and easy and 5 minutes, your GPS will send you on a route that's twice as long and takes four times as much time to drive. And then it will have the audacity to label it as "fastest route"

@mikeylyksit there’s a doctors office here that Google has on it’s map a half-mile down the road from where it really is. First time we went we told the doctor’s assistant that we drove past and had to turn around and go back. She said they had contacted Google and asked them to correct the address on their map and they didn’t do it.
@mikeylyksit it tries to avoid road possible blocks and traffic congestion

I use google maps all the time and it's a marvel but should never be blindly relied upon and should be used with common sense like any technology. I asked for the best route to a town once and it wanted to send me down a dirt track because it thought the main road was blocked. Another time it got me stuck doing laps of inner city Perth due to not being able to get me off the one way streets.

@SW-User Agree. My phone satnav sometimes suggests roads that are longer.

Siri said a couple of stores here were open on Christmas day and they were not. Have to take everything Siri says with a grain of salt.
