I am not one for politics especially American politics but there is a bit of hypocrisy going around

I have not hid the fact that I am a fan of Joe Rogan at all. I think his podcast is great for free speech and hearing other peoples opinions when they are not your own. My issue is this whole cancel culture thing going on and the people who mostly push for this are very hypocritical imo
The people who mostly push for cancel culture are the ones who most likely voted for Joe Biden so with that in mind, why on earth do you care so much of trying to cancel Joe Rogan over this people have deemed racist (completely ignoring any context to why he said those things) but yet actually vote in a racist homophobic person like Joe Biden to run a country?
And yeah people are going to say Joe Biden is not racist and blah blah blah but it isnt hard to find dumb things he has said. Hell even his Vice president was accusing him of being racist when running for president.

I just dont get the hypocrisy. Seems you all pick and choose who is allowed to be racist and homophobic and deem others as that when unwarranted.

I more think it is about power and feel powerful by trying to make others lives as miserable as you can.
I dont understand how people get off from wanting others to fail.

anyway that is all i will say on this

Quite the stretch there, yikes.
ZashaKitty · 26-30, F
@Human1000 how so?
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@ZashaKitty Because I voted for Joe Biden I can’t think Joe Rogan should not use the N word. That’s just bizarre.
ZashaKitty · 26-30, F
@Human1000 you can think he shouldnt use that word and that is fine. It is ignoring the context of it and deeming him racist and trying to make him lose his career that is the issue and doing all that but voting someone as the most powerful man in the country who has said far worse
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@ZashaKitty I don’t recall Biden saying the N word, implying blacks have inferior brains, or saying being in a black neighborhood is like Planet of the Apes. Or the equivalent.

As a company, Spotify has a problem with one of its employees. I don’t know if he should be fired or not. However, I don’t begrudge anyone not wanting their music on Spotify because of it.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Human1000 Joe Biden often used the N word and not as a joke like Rogan so there is that. If you opposed the N word wouldn't you oppose all who have used it?
ZashaKitty · 26-30, F
@Human1000 https://www.westernjournal.com/looking-proof-biden-racist-got-decades-evidence-right/

there you go. A link to so much of the horrible racist stuff Biden has said that people keep letting him get away with
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@hippyjoe1955 @ZashaKitty I didn’t see in the article a reference to Joe Biden using the N word. If there is such evidence I will certainly consider it.
AuRevoir · 36-40, M
@Human1000 they literally have recording of Joe Biden while acting President “honoring” a man by calling him a negro.. it honestly is the most disgusting thing.. soooo yeah no.. and he also said black people aren’t black if they don’t vote for him..

At this point you’re just proving the original posters point..
ZashaKitty · 26-30, F
@hippyjoe1955 Joe Rogan has mostly said it when saying what other people said or things in that nature. Never as far as i am aware directed towards someone
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@ZashaKitty I agree context is important.
ZashaKitty · 26-30, F
@Human1000 so that stuff in the article doesnt matter because the N word wasnt used? some of that stuff is incredibly racist and that was just the first thing i quickly found. There are video clips and so much easy to find stuff of him saying the most offensive racist and homophobic things
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@AuRevoir I’d be glad to change my mind if I had something to consider. I agree context is important. The stuff Rogan has said about black minds and planet of the apes is pretty bad. I used to listen to Rogan and I don’t think he’s evil.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Human1000 You must be a liberal because you think history began this morning. I can remember Biden using the N word going back decades. He was best friends with members of the KKK. Those are facts. All you showed me is you are a partisan liberal who uses fake news to support your choice.
ZashaKitty · 26-30, F
@Human1000 will just say, i am not trying to change anyones mind on Joe Biden here or anything of that nature. I am just trying to understand the logic behind trying to cancel a podcaster over some things he said over 10 years ago now but constantly give your president a free pass to say whatever racist things he likes? it is just very hypocritical i think
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@ZashaKitty It’s a long article and I read a couple of items that did not seem racist to me, and others that are more troublesome. I don’t think that means because I voted for Biden over Trump I can’t find issues with what Rogan said.
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@ZashaKitty I think for some there may be hypocrisy, yes.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Human1000 Hypocrisy thy name is liberal. Blame someone for one thing while excusing someone else for doing exactly the same thing. Sorry old sod but that is the definition of hypocrisy.
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@hippyjoe1955 I’m not defending Biden for using the N word. I just haven’t seen evidence of it.
ZashaKitty · 26-30, F
@Human1000 sorry i am not used to sharing links and was the first one i found with some pretty offensive stuff for example him saying things like Obama is the first African American he has met that is well articulated and clean.

feel free to judge how ever you feel they should. It is the cancel culture that i feel is the issue. If you dont like someone and think of them in a negative way, you dont have to watch them. Trying to get people fired because they have different opinions or political beliefs and whatever is insane to me is all
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@ZashaKitty That’s not the quote, but no matter. He shouldn’t have said it. But if you are okay with what Rogan said, then I don’t see how you aren’t okay with what Biden said. I may be different because I’m not advocating Spotify fire Rogan.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Human1000 I don't care who uses it! When I was a kid we had little black licorice doll figures. Guess what they were called? Every Christmas we would get Brazil nuts. They were hard to crack but the meat tasted wonderful. Guess what they were called? I'll give you a hint it rhymed with jigger toes. Did we mean anything by it? Of course not. None of us had even seen a black man or woman. The fact is you are the one calling for discrimination not me. I don't care what words anyone uses so long as they are not meant to hurt or malign and so long as the usage is applied equally. If a leftist can say it so can a rightist. If a rightist can say it so can a leftist.
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@hippyjoe1955 I didn't actually call Rogan a racist or that he discriminated.
ZashaKitty · 26-30, F
@Human1000 In 2007, he referred to Barack Obama as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean.”

I know the context in which Joe Rogan said those things though. That is the difference. Joe Biden is just a racist homophobic old man who now panders to those he hates for votes. I think over a decade of saying incredibly stupid racist things proves that. I am also not saying Joe Biden should be removed from presidency because of that. I am against cancel culture and the cancel culture mob is after Joe Rogan not Joe biden. I am just pointing out the hypocrisy of those people to pick and choose who should be "cancelled" and it is obvious why, it is all political and Biden is now on the side they want and Rogan is not so much
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Human1000 You are excusing one person using a nasty word and condemning someone else for using the exact same word. That is the problem. Condemn them both or condemn neither. At least don't be a hypocrite.
Human1000 · 51-55, M
@ZashaKitty That's not actually the quote. In reference to Obama's candidacy Biden said "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."

That seems about Rogan's level to me.
