Sometimes it could be insecurity they are having, I would ask why first!
If they are sure best to let them go.
They probably have thwir wyes set on someone else

I'd let him go. I wouldn't want to be near him if he didn't love me anymore.
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@BlondilyOld Totally agree, if they don't love you then you are better off without them.
TexChik · F
What choice do you have really ? Why would you want to be with someone who clearly knows what they want , and it’s not you ?
Starsandfire · 31-35, F
I let him go 🤷 I got over it and was happier for it eventually.
Mirage · F
I would want to talk about it and see if it's possible to work it out. Marriage is no small matter to me, it's a commitment.

@SunnydaysinTokyo I have a hard time believing some of these answers, I think words are easy, but faced with the real life situation is a different story.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
It takes two to make it work
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
@MarineBob Agreed...if she really wanted a divorce, then I'd agree to divorce
Time to go, love is not charity or taken by force.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
I’ve been through divorce. Life is much better on the other side.

Without deep love and a strong physical relationship, marriage just isn’t worth it. With both, it’s amazingly fulfilling.

It’s all about pursuing what you deserve.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
I just want to let you all know that this was a hypothetical situation, not my own situation. I’ve had so many private messages about it so I just wanted to clear up any confusion
They need to respect the other person's decision and let go . Anything beyond that is selfish and controlling
i wish my husband would come home and tell me he was leaving...
chrisCA · M
Get counseling.
Synyster · 51-55, M
There's always one that wants to end the marriage more than the other. It's a very tough situation but you have to be happy and would you be fine knowing that he doesn't want to be married anymore if he stayed?
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
That is a terrible situation and can lead to such horrible heartbreak.
antonioioio · 70-79, M
You can't make someone love you
So I would say let him go ❤️
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
Go. Do you need help packing?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Very difficult question, I'd want to know why and if we could do anything to salvage the marriage age.
SilkandLace2 · 46-50, M
@samueltyler2 but if it's too this point, is there salvaging?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@SilkandLace2 that depends upon what caused it to get that far, and who else a divorce might affect.
Boot them from my life, might as well get that shit over with, no point in wasting time with someone that does not appreciate me.
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
I would want to be sure they were sure, and that they understood there would be no second chances afterwards, but then I'd let them go.
Focus on the core of the issue, he's only willing to leave because his needs aren't being met. A marriage consists of give and take you have to compromise with one another.
@DIABLISS I've already stated a " A marriage consists of give and take you have to compromise with one another." everyone's needs should be met not just one person
@Souls then he should tell her. marriages break up for millions of reasons but the worst is lack of communication
@DIABLISS exactly
Let them go. I hold no prisoners.
Been through years of counseling she still doesn't follow advice from, while I've tried everything suggested for me. She wants to go .. I'm not gonna try and stop her anymore.

I would let them go. I don't want anyone who doesn't want me.
Beautywithin · 36-40, F
I'd let him go would hurt like hell but if he didn't love me anymore
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
Painful but you have to let go... It would only get very ugly I imagine
Paperhearts · 61-69, F
Frankie13 · 46-50, M
Well I used to think I wouldn’t divorce her. But then she started fucking my brother so now she can go to hell and I want a divorce right now
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
Let go, it’s not gonna get better, their mind is made up once they say that to you.
jim44444 · 70-79, M
Her choice to stay or leave.
She does not need my permission to leave. Nor do I need hers.
Playdaddy69 · 46-50, M
Just let them go. You will be happier in the end
wouldnt that be different for everybody?
GJOFJ3 · 61-69, M
I gave her reasons to stay
I kind of think you have to let them go

let them go, it’s already broken
chrisCA · M
@deathfairy And only take with you what is yours, and don't expect a penny.
I couldn’t see staying with anyone who didn’t want to be with me. I’d have to let them go.
