How easy would it be for you to just pack up and move to another state? What about another country?

Would you be able to do that at any time you felt like it?

If I can get my daughter to move I would tomorrow but I’m not leaving my grandkids. I’m not going to be a FaceTime grandparent. I wish I would have moved while they were in elementary school.

I am the same as Keep it Simple - grandkids are the reason we will NEVER abandon them for our own satisfaction

@nedkelly Totally agree with you. Life would suck without them.

I did exactly that a few years ago.

If I had loads of money I would travel and probably have a summer home in Maine. Not sure where my winter home would be. I am free to go anywhere.

I've moved to another state, but its harder to move to another country if you have a family and kids. A summer house would be nice but it takes money, probably all cash money too since its hard to get a loan in a country you don't work, so you have to get a job and that's easy if you have a lot of education and speak the language. So there are challenges. I could easily move but I wouldn't work there, I would just have a summer house and live there part of the year.
However, I would move for the right man, sure.

I have decided that I am pretty much a homebody. I don't mind packing up and visiting or vacationing, but I was born and raised where I live and my roots have grown deep.

You stay where your kids are
Or most of them anyway
Shifting to another country depends on how rich you are 🙂

@antonioioio Sometimes, those kids move away first. lol

In the last 23 years , changed 14 residences while living in 4 countries (three with family).

Not moving anymore.

Similar to my own experience. Only two countries, three states, and 10 moves, and that’s not counting the moves when I was young. I’d be happy never to move again. @scorpiolovedeep
almost impossible can't imagine him establishing a practice anywhere else

@saragoodtimes Yes. Sometimes, it's not as easy as many like to think.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Not easy at all. I would be terribly anxious first and probably sad to leave all I know behind later.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Pretty much impossible, though I suppose I could if I HAD to.

As simple as making up my mind and making a plan.
For moving to another country.. never wanted to.
If the cash is available to just move on... I'd have no problem in doing so.
I am happy ..finally, and that took for me to move!

@ShadowWorker We see a lot of things the same.

I could do it but it would depend on my kids. I'm pretty settled and like where I live though.

I sold everything and moved my son into a van to travel the country. It took some time to adjust but now I love it.
HeidiA · 41-45, F
I did all that while my husband was in the RAF. Now we’re putting down roots.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
No I wouldn't just pack up and move like that. I have lived in this area most of my life
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
I guess I'd be able, but gosh what a pain☹️
Big sale maybe
SW-User
I've done it several times, I think I'm settled now.
Carissimi · 70-79, F
No. Bureaucracy and red tape would prevent me from moving, easily, to another country. Another state would be an easier move, although I’ve never had a move that was easy, and I hate moving.
