The uninitiated, defined as those who don't study stats and science professionally often will boil down disagreements between experts as a zero sum game as this is significantly easier to understand.


Take climate change for example. Two scientists my disagree on the progression rate of the Earth's warming but not that it's happening or the causes, but if you say "two scientists disagree on climate change" you are technically right and exceedingly dishonest. (Not you of course the collective you)


I applaud you and anyone who thinks critically about their sources, as a data scientist I had to take SEVERAL ethics based classes because it's easy to present your findings in a way that can mislead.


I wish they taught this sort of thing to the general public.
