This is monumentally stupid and insignificant, but
For some odd reason, it kinda bothers me that one of my stories is at exactly 69 views. The internet has ruined me. Every time I come across that number, there's a stupid little juvenile voice in my head going, "Hurr durr. 69. He he he. Nice"
I just end up feeling like Beavis and Butthead for making such a big deal out of such a meaningless coincidence. I almost feel like one of those nutty Christians that can't see the number 666 without clutching their pearls and thinking the devil is around the corner.
And ever since I noticed it, I keep coming back to my profile hoping some desperately lost stalker stumbled across my page and mustered enough curiosity to give an old boring story a view.
It's a little maddening. I really don't like how obsessed I've become over this. I almost want to get a fake profile for moments like these. If it was just one view more or less, I wouldn't bother with it. It wouldn't even be on my radar.
At least I'm nowhere near popular enough to wind up with 420 views
