Did you know that the Golden Girls were in the 50s when the show began. Except for Sophia who was in her 70s.

I'm close to 50 and I ain't a Golden girl.

@Sunshinekiss Betty White was always the eldest of the actresses, even older than Estelle Getty (born in 1922, to Getty’s 1923).
I always marveled at that. And while Bea Arthur was also born in 1922, she was born in May (Betty was born January 17). Rue McClanahan was born in 1934.

@bijouxbroussard it amazes Me that they portrayed them to be older and grandmother like but I'm close to the age that they were portraying and I don't feel anything like that.

So much has changed in such a short span of time.

@Sunshinekiss It really has. I’m 62 (tomorrow) and while I joke about being a “little old lady” I don’t really feel like one—at least not as they’re portrayed on tv. 😊
