Are older people (76 -100 ) age always right? If they insult you in a subtle way do you tend to be humble and change or do you get offended?

I have the utmost respect for my elders. But an insult is an insult, if I don't think I deserve it, I respectfully point that out. Age, rank, whether you wear a badge or not, doesn't give anyone the right to insult anyone.
