The Macquarie Dictionary, from Macquarie University in Oz ...

Has just announced its word of the year.

The winner is "strollout" ....a word coined here to describe our less than stellar prime minister's vaccine rollout program.

That is all!

Never heard of that. If anything that would be described as rollout here. I don't know what our dictionary's word of the year will be... I'll probably find out soon. There have been terms thrown around like 'double-vaxxed' and 'booster'.

@amethyst1 Normally it would be called a rollout .... But it was so slow it became a stroll out ...

@ozgirl512 I've read in the media that Australia initially dealt with things better than us and have been much stricter with border closures but I cannot imagine the UK being that strict. There would be riots and protests even more. But we do seem to have been quick with the vaccines

@amethyst1 we were more strict with contagion control, yep, it was a pain, but it worked. Total death toll since the whole thing started is still less than 2000, they are figures it's hard to argue against.
