We're screwed. As you can see in the comments here already, we're not going to do a thing.

@NerdyPotato agreed. Why do we have new variants? Because people won’t get vaccinated.
@iamonfire696 And because the vaccinated live in the delusion that they can do whatever they want without contributing to the spread and hospital occupation.

@NerdyPotato yes that too

@kandy I guess you haven’t gotten any other vaccinations then because none of them are 100% effective. I honestly don’t care what your opinion is. If you get COVID or not it doesn’t affect me.

@iamonfire696 vaccinations may or may not be 100 % effectice but at least it's doing something to protect you and to help fight the virus for you and other people vaccinated n unvaccinated. Doing nothing to fight the virus won't help to get rid of it n will keep us having endless lockdowns n loss of life needlessly.
We should all do what we can to effectively fight n help eliminate it n get rid of it n get life back to normal.

@Senecaa where did you get the impression I was against vaccinations? I am completely for them.
Senecaa · 70-79, M
@iamonfire696 I do apologise if I read it wrongly. I am glad that you are for them.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Senecaa I think they should be mandatory in fact.
@iamonfire696 I agree, in a world with perfect medical care. But exceptions for people who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons are essential, and in the current reality, a mandate is going to put people who are misdiagnosed, undiagnosed or not taken seriously about valid medically based objections in danger.

@NerdyPotato it’s also pretty tiring to listen to all these “armchair experts” that have all of a sudden become well versed in the medical field and vaccinations. They just regurgitate the same BS and it’s pathetic.

@kandy I don’t know you and probably don’t even live in the same country. Here it’s mainly unvaccinated people in the ICU and I know the director of critical care. Too bad you think the media is lying when they aren’t. You COVID deniers are the biggest sheep of them all.

@kandy I know the director of critical care. The numbers the government is reporting here are not made up. She is a good friend and I work in health care. If it makes you feel better to think otherwise then stick your head in the sand. I have friends that are ICU nurses. The people with COVID in the ICU are unvaccinated. That data is updated every few days where I live.

@kandy that’s why you get a booster. My friend sure wishes she got vaccinated as she got COVID and needs a kidney transplant. Completely healthy but not anymore. Her kidneys are starting to fail too.

@kandy vaccinated people can still end up in the hospital indeed, but you're missing a bit of context there, namely that there are a lot more vaccinated people.

When there are 35 vaccinated and 65 unvaccinated people in the hospital, the effect of vaccination seems rather limited. But when you consider those 65 come from a population of 150 and those 35 from 850, you get a whole different picture.
