How would you rate your memory?

Your ability to retain information? My 12 year old brother suffers from autistic spectrum conditions as well as savant syndrome. Upon asking him this morning where we should eat breakfast he recited in its entirety, the menu including price of a Denny's restaurant.

probably an 8. my hubby is like a 3. sometimes i think he is on the spectrum too as he can remember the chemical make up of the thin atmosphere on mars or anything about space. But he lacks in functional memory of conversations, people he’s met, places we have been. It’s perplexing.

@NiftyWhite Perplexing how retention takes place in our brain. Like your husband perhaps my brother can become lost and disoriented in our backyard yet knows the Gettysburg Address from memory.

@CodyCode Yeah there’s not a lot of answers about that. My brother has an intellectual disability and can remember trivial facts about sports and cars but can’t remember what assets he owns.
