@SW-User I remember, when I visited a friend and she had a terrible terrible new wallpaper, in her living room. And she was proud of it, and liked it, and asked me what I thought... 😒
@helenS Haha Haha!! Nothing like being put on the spot! If it were me, I'd be honest. "It's not my style, but fits you well. I know we differ on taste, but glad you are happy with it." :) It may not be what a person wants to hear, but it's honest and not mean.
@SW-User I was agreeing and actually love her original comment. “Lying is not kind” is so true!! You do no favors to anyone lying to them..especially important, life stuff.

@NoGamesTolerated I get that, but the question is about being honest and how to do that with kindness. I'd rather not lie to people either way.
@SW-User I know. I read your reply to someone else. I think her reply answered it well. And as others have said .. with “tact” is the key… but the simple truth is sometimes people can’t receive truth no matter how you put it out there. I guess sometimes it’s just too painful for their minds and hearts to bear.
@helenS You could have said of the wallpaper, "In my opinion, it looks like puke on a pile of sh^t"
You never know with people though. I used to have a friend who drove this thing that looks like a portable restroom on wheels. She loved the damn thing but to me it is like "I would not even puke on something that ugly."
@helenS And you trail right behind her… lol not necessarily a bad thing…

@NoGamesTolerated Sometimes, we can't help if someone is upset even when you are kind with our ways of being honest. I'd like to know I was kind still.
