@Nimbus Well at least the Robin was a 'proper' car. All it lacked was a fourth wheel, which meant that it could be driven in the UK on a motorcycle licence, in case anyone's wondering. It had a four-cylinder, four-stroke, water-cooled engine and a normal manual transmission - just like any other small car. The predecessor Reliant Regal was much the same.

The Bond Minicars were a different matter - air-cooled (usually) single-cylinder two-stroke engine driving only the front wheel. Motorcycle type sequential gearbox. They didn't use much fuel - but then, they didn't have much power.
