I’m Fully Vaccinated and ..,

I'm fully vaccinated and, no, I don't know what's in it - neither this vaccine, the ones I had as a child, nor in the Big Mac, or in hot dogs, or in other treatments…whether it's for cancer, AIDS, the one for polyarthritis, or vaccines for infants or children.
I also don't know what's in Ibuprofen, Paracetamol , or other meds, it just cures my headaches & my pains.
I don't know what's in the ink for tattoos, vaping, Botox and fillers, or every ingredient in my soap or shampoo or even deodorants. I don’t know the long term effect of mobile phone use or whether or not that restaurant I just ate at REALLY used clean foods and washed their hands.
In short ...
There's a lot of things I don't know and never will…
I just know one thing: life is short, very short, and I still want to do something other than just going to work every day or staying locked in my home. I still want to travel and hug people without fear and find a little feeling of life "before".
As a child and as an adult I've been vaccinated for mumps, measles, rubella, polio, chicken pox, and quite a few others; my parents and I trusted the science and never had to suffer through or transmit any of said diseases.
I'm vaccinated, not to please the government but:
* To not die from Covid-19.
* To NOT clutter a hospital bed if I get sick.
* To hug my loved ones
* To Not have to do PCR or antigenic tests to go out dancing, go to a restaurant, go on holidays and many more things to come ...
* To live my life.
* To have kids go back to school and play sports.
* For Covid-19 to be an old memory.
* To protect us.

I legitimately don't understand how we have reached a point in human evolution where saying this is taking some bold stand. It's like the entire world is going crazy.

@LordShadowfire Actually it isn't that hard to understand. We're talking about an entire society of multiple generations who has been lied to by media, manipulated by government, exploited by the Healthcare industry, and poisoned by big pharma.

So when a true crisis comes along, people are too jaded and suspicious to believe or trust any of them. It's the net effect of decades and decades of shady and untrustworthy behaviors coming to a head.

@LordShadowfire What’s the death rate?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@MrBrownstone For those who can't do numbers larger then themselves and their own person at any given time.

How can a disease with 1% mortality shut down the United States?

Franklin Veaux

There are two problems with this question.It neglects the law of large numbers; andIt assumes that one of two things happen: you die or you’re 100% fine.

The US has a population of 328,200,000.

If one percent of the population dies, that’s 3,282,000 people dead.

Three million people dead would monkey wrench the economy no matter what.

That more than doubles the number of annual deaths all at once.The second bit is people keep talking about deaths. Deaths, deaths, deaths. Only one percent die! Just one percent! One is a small number! No big deal, right?

What about the people who survive?

For every one person who dies: 19 more require hospitalization. 18 of those will have permanent heart damage for the rest of their lives. 10 will have permanent lung damage. 3 will have strokes. 2 will have neurological damage that leads to chronic weakness and loss of coordination. 2 will have neurological damage that leads to loss of cognitive function.

So now all of a sudden, that “but it’s only 1% fatal!” becomes: 3,282,000 people dead. 62,358,000 hospitalized. 59,076,000 people with permanent heart damage. 32,820,000 people with permanent lung damage. 9,846,000 people with strokes. 6,564,000 people with muscle weakness. 6,564,000 people with loss of cognitive function.

That's the thing that the folks who keep going on about “only 1% dead, what’s the big deal?” don’t get.

The choice is not “ruin the economy to save 1%.” If we reopen the economy, it will be destroyed anyway. The US economy cannot survive everyone getting COVID-19.

@LordShadowfire So before covid no one was dying or in the hospital. Got it!
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@MrBrownstone I think I've had enough of you pretending to be too stupid to get the point.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@LordShadowfire Same to you
