why do muslims receive so much hate?

Politicians needed a justification for war and for over a decade the media drip fed the word Muslim in the same context of terrorism. That's the [b]only[/b] exposure people got to Muslims. So by dehumanising them in an excruciatingly long process, it slowly became second nature to see Muslims with reinforced stereotypes who exist as monolothic individuals. This was 100% intentional. It had a purpose and still does.
Anytime a specific group of people are demonised, more times than not there's an ulterior motive that's making a rich man even richer.

As for the masses of regular people, they prefer to ignore or dismiss it because anything that isn't in their frame of experience makes them acknowledge patterns they're uncomfortable addressing.

Because too many people wrongly believe that Muslims are terrorists. The truth of the matter is that most of them are not.

All depends on where you live.. in the middle east Muslims kill Muslims from different beliefs systems.. no one in the world kills more brown people than other brown people. No one killed more Asians than other Asians.. no one kills more white people than other white people. Hate is just a human thing. It isn't that we hate people that are different as such as we just love to hate in general.. and politicians and media and governments and powerful groups around the world who benefit from division and conflict actively create and nurture the environment in which hate thrives. It's time to see past the trees and realize we are in a forest.

Because the practice of hate from their religion is evident. Their religion commands death to all non believers that cannot be converted.

Because of what they see, hear, and read. Monotheistic religions tend to be targeted because of the behavior of a minority of their adherents, and sensationalism from the media. I used to be really down on Islam until I understood the historical context of what Mohammed dictated in Medina and what he dictated in Mecca. People are people. They are kind, compassionate, hospitable, family oriented, hard working, studious, productive, etc etc, and they are also the opposite of all these things, regardless of their belief systems.

It's not just Muslims, but religions as a whole. Look at the way Jewish people were/still are treated.

Religion must be regarded as a source of hate, unfortunately.

Muslims are seen as "foreign" and "other" right off the bat, so that sets them up for it. And the fact is that Muslims have been responsible for a number of attacks in the West in recent decades, which increases the paranoia/hostility around them. In either case it's a result of generalizing.

They are closer to the truth in spiritual ascension for all of humanity as opposed to those who wish to keep everyone divided, sedated and in bondage with an animalistic mind state

Mostly media coverage of extremists. 9/11 may be a factor now, but a bias has always existed, in the western world, anyway.

I've never met a bad Muslim. The ones i have met were kind and happy people. Although I do believe Islam is a pile of shite. It's based on Moon worship.
