Thoughts on this hairline crack kitchen ceiling?

[image deleted]It's probably twenty inches or so long, and it's maybe a few mm thicker than a hair. It's in the kitchen.. bathroom/shower above it.

What do you want to know?

@Madmonk will it potentially be dangerous?

No. I agree with Adogslife. Compound and paint will do the trick. Something I do as well is I use big stretch caulk in the gap. Trowel it smooth then compound sand and paint. Big stretch is a water based product that has extra pliable qualities to it. Any such latex caulking will do. Be sure to get it smooth @Coralmist

@Madmonk Please see my reply to Adogslife as well..there was some leakage in the past near that area...so not sure if the crack is from that or not

I did read that. The crack definitely did originate from that leak. This caused the gypsum to expand and then contract leaving the crack. If the water issue has been taken care of you should be alight to patch. @Coralmist
