Tech savvy folks, what are the most mindblowing recent advancements most people still don't know about?

I started fooling around on codeacademy.com with the hopes of gaining more confidence with the more complicated side of computers ( or laptops, iPads , ect.) but , I would really like some more information on how to become better with computers. Programmers/"tech savvy" people, what do people say that annoys the living shit out of you?
