Why are doctors and nurses so overweight ?

The doctors that are supposed to know how to be healthy and prevent disease are in reality unhealthy and overweight. They have salad, but they are eating hot dogs and pizza from the fast food restaurants inside the hospital.

because they have personal freedoms the same way you do. why are so many patients overweight? I've seen patients weigh 4 hundred pounds nearly falling on and killing a staff member.

@DeluxedEdition When really heavy patients need to be lifted or moved, how do medical workers even manage?
I mean lifting anything non-rigid takes a lot more effort, let alone someone real heavy
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@CestManan we have machines called mechanical lifts that when I've told stories in thepast i refer to them as "human cranes" bahahahah two people have to operate the machine.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@DeluxedEdition I can hear over the intercom - "Fork lift driver needed in room 237."

it's only a minute long. this is what it looks like. this machine is technically designed for patients who have a dr order and can't bear any weight.

@DeluxedEdition I hope I NEVER find myself in a position where they have to lift me with a machine because I cannot move.

@CestManan i think we all feel that way.😞

just take good care of your body. i eliminated sugar from my diet recently 😀

@DeluxedEdition only thing though he put the sling upside down🥴 😑

in an education video really

@DeluxedEdition I would die without sugar.

I guess though even an athlete could get hurt and be immobile.

For me though, I am not severly overweight and fairly solid. So hopefully I would not be hard to move.

@DeluxedEdition Plus the patient is wearing running shoes. Pretty nice ones, I believe Saucony brand.

BTW, MAY I suggest that brand, they are durable, comfy, stylish, AND affordable.

@CestManan there are so many diabetics that we take care of. i never ever knew how debilitating diabetes could be until i got into this field. People lose legs, toes, things don't heal properly, people get infections easier. I've seen people put themselves in comas they didn't come out of. my own really good friend actually died this way. he was a type 1 and poorly regulated his diabetes. i've known of people who have passed out in traffic and caused accidents.

It's insane. just remember always take good good good care of your condition. you don't have to starve yourself but dont be unreasonable.🙏

anything could happen that could cause someone to be entirely paralyzed. it isn't completely life choices.

when i worked med surg i young man a little older than i was was there because he got zika virus and was completely paralyzed he could only move his head😳
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@CestManan she is a tech too that's why she knows which shoes are the best haahhahahhahah
CestManan · 46-50, F
@DeluxedEdition Mine is type 2. Not sure how bad it is but I am not real worried. I do need to cut back sugar though, I know that.

I think my physical job is the only reason I am in decent (not perfect) shape.

I was not kidding about Saucony tennies. The reason they are not as expensive as Nike or what not is because they do not sponsor already-rich basketball players.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@CestManan nike is such cheap shit. i wore my new pair for about two months before they wore out on the tops and sides.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@DeluxedEdition Plus they are more expensive than the wages of sin
Oster1 · M
@DeluxedEdition How about Dansko shoes. Very popular up here. I wear them too.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@CestManan isn't it horrific?????????
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@Oster1 i'll try them. ive been wearing crocs until i can find something i like. i have to have good shoes because i broke my right leg so i have problems with that foot
Oster1 · M
@DeluxedEdition I’m sure you have seen them. They are like clogs.😊🌷
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@Oster1 OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i have!! they look uncomfortable which is why i never tried them. i thought they were just for fashion lol
Oster1 · M
@DeluxedEdition They are made for comfort. Most the Docs and Nurses, wear them here. I love mine. For a man, it’s a clog that doesn’t look feminine.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@DeluxedEdition @Oster1

Just avoid sketchers. I do not know why but those things smell like death or raw sewage after even a few wear.

Not that used shoes smell good but sketchers are BAD.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@Oster1 i'll have to try it. no wonder everyone wears them heheh
