vegans and vaccines

apparently vegans are now a 'protected species' and are exempt from getting vaccines, cause the vaccines were tested on animals....

That isn't quite what I've read, about the possibility that "ethical veganism" might exempt some from vaccine mandates an employer might impose.
@Piper and I think even that's only on the uk?

@Piper I was thinking that ethical veganism and normal veganism is basically the same? or is ethical veganism more strict?

@SooperSarah only in the UK, forgot to mention that

@SooperSarah Based on my brief search earlier, it is only the in UK that this
possible vaccine exemption has gained attention. Mainly by "anti-vaxxers" on social media, it seems, who jokingly say they are vegans.
@Piper this is what I read. It also goes into the unprovable difference between vegan and ethical vegan.

@maturedragon There are those who choose a vegan diet, for reasons related mainly to their own health. Then there are those who wish to do the least harm in their choices as a consumer.
From what I've seen and experienced for a very long time, many people don't think there is anything "normal" about vegans or even vegetarians.

@SooperSarah That is one of the two articles I read too, on this subject.
