Have you ever been in a near death situation?

I been through 5..at least what i can think of from atop of my head:

1. I was 2 y/o. As my mom put it I was climbing to reach for some cookies that were on top of the stove. Boiling hot water spilled all over me. I was rushed to the hospital. They managed to take all the burnts off except for my arms due to lack of money. So now both my arms still have burned scars. And there is a spot on my head that doesn't grow hair.
2. So beside my grandmothers apartment, there was a public swimming pool for all the residients. I was 8. And i do not know how to swim. Even now. Maybe because of trauma. So there was a deep end to it as well. I was walking around the swimming pool when this family we new, one of them pushed me in. I couldn't breath. All i can hear is them laughing. I think i had a black out cause I don't know what happened after that.
3. My sister was in kindergaten. I was 15 at the time. Her school was across from our neighborhood i was walking her to school one chilly morning. She was late, so the field, the playground was empty. She loved to play in the playground. She was late but she couldn't stop crying until she got a round of the slide. So i let her. I was waiting for her when i saw a man sitting near the swings. He was tall and had a mask on. His bike was laying behind him. As he realized me noticed him I guess, locking eyes on eachother he slowly was picking up this long thick pole off the sand. I told my sister come on lets go. As I was holding her hand walking quickly out of the playground onto the field toward the school building he was less than a meter away from us with that pole. He could òf hurt us but he didn't. He was just staring at us going by. I guess he felt sorry I was with a little girl? (Well I was only but in High School myself) Two was too much for him So he waited for me to come out again, alone, so he can hurt, possibly kill me? We made it inside the school. But I don't know why i didn't tell the office secertary about him. As I left I walked the other way to go home though. Later that day I saw many police cars surrounding the area. For about a month I was paranoid, fearing he might break through the shower window.

4. We were in another house. Still in High School. All the windows were bare because the tenant couldn't get us blinds. It was raining one day. I was the only one in the house babysitting my two younger siblings. We were in the living room on the couch telling them stories and laughing when something, I had a feeling to go to the kitchen and make sure if the front door was locked. I got up and checked it was unlocked. So i quiickly locked it up. My little sister was aside from me. Thats when i took a glimse out the window on the side. This man was in a black cape walking back and forth towards the door. Thinking if he should come in or not i guess. As he turned around to walk back towards the door, he looked at us through the window. I was to scared to look at him but my sister swore she saw him take out a knife from his cape and drool down his face. As he quickly rushed to try to get the door open i hurried my siblings and I to go upstairs. I grabbed the phone on our way up. As we reached upstairs my moms room door was open as well her window. So we could hear him like clearly trying to get in and ringing the door bell a bazillion times over. I called the police. An operater told us to go in a room and close the door and push something really heavy against it. So my sister and I pushed a big dresser against it. As i was shaking, she was asking me all these questions to calm me down. We waited like 10 minite give or take. All we hear is a kick through the door. It was the cops telling us that it was safe to come down. We came down, I answering a bunch of questions. So wierd because it wasn't raining anymore and the neighbors came out playing. That day we heard that he broke in a womans house and slashed her throat in that neighborhood. But it was funny because we had all these boxes ready to move. So we left that aragant tenant a broken door 😂 I have a fetish now that rain or shine to always make sure that the door is locked. Mostly rain. Lol

5. This was back in 2013. I was finished work one Saterday evening. I always walked home so i was crossing a 4 way intersection. I was waiting for my turn to cross at the stop walk and it was my turn to cross. I always make sure to double check as well if some driver wasn't paying attention (horrible drivers here btw). I was beggining to cross when this white van came out of no where. So she came at full speed and she was pushing me with the car. As she was still moving, I put both my arms and waited infront of the car as to make her stop. Make her feel someone was there if she was blindd! As she was forcing the car to turn, she couldnt stop, so i twisted my body and her left wheel of her car ran over my left foot. It was as if it was slow motion. When she completed her turn she stopped. Me on the floor, stopped cars in all directions, i got up ubruptly, limping off the road on to the side walk again. My foot was swolen. She came out of the car to realize she was an old lady. And she had glasses too. She didnt say sorry..nothing. I was angry. Yelling at her. I took her licience plate and said i just came from work, and she just says, calmly, well i just came from church. Like she didn't even give a shit (Like did Jesus tell you to run over a person today?). Stupid as i was i just walked 30 minutes home and then went to hospital. They told me i need a ciropractor for it. A week off of work i went back. I saw another old lady usual customer. She acted strangely to me ever since i told her i was muslim one time. She asks me how my foot was feeling? I told her good, but how'd you know of my foot? I didn't tell you. She went quite. Next few days after that she comes to shop but her and her hubby, I would see from the turf of my eye, that they were staring at my foot as if they were expecting me to limp on it. It was still getting better but i would just walk perfectly just so i can piss them of. Ha and it worked. Yup haven't seen them since then. They hired their friend to do that to my foot I told myself. It is acaully fine now. I said it was my sketcher shoes who saved it or a gardian angel all together who saved my life.....or maybe im a vampire 🤫😂😂

1) thrown out of car as a baby
2) fell 17 feet off a tree onto concrete around 10.
3) motorcycle accident at 17.
4) Nearly froze to death literally in Wyoming at 23 (homeless).
5) Nearly died of heatstroke literally at 37 in the desert here, homeless again.

That's about all the major ones. None of the numerous minor ones.

@nightjourney As with everyone, she had her faults. Yet not trying to take care of her young wasn't one of them. Even in war torn situations she tried if unsuccessful. 😢

I've had a couple.

I was in a coma for three days after being beaten by three guys with ball bats. Died twice during that time according to the doctors.

I also drowned in a river as a child. My mom had to revive me.

I nearly drowned once. Rip tide picked up with the wind, carrying my childhood best friend and I out into the river. I was trying to keep us afloat, but the moron he was got on my back instead. If it wasn't for a pair of jet skiers showing up, I'd be dead.
@SW-User One of my sisters was a lifeguard. She told me the hardest thing is how some people panic while you’re trying to save them. She almost had to knock a guy out once, because he almost drowned the both of them. 😳
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard I had to struggle and kick him off of me. I couldn't keep us both afloat.

1. The difference of seconds saw my friend shatter the windshield of a Cadillac with his head, instead of mine.
We crossed a busy street on bikes and didn't look twice. Tangled in his bike frame on the asphalt, he was the picture of death.
Still can't remember anything beyond sirens and lights coming up over the hill.

He made a full recovery. I still blame the idiot 7 year old he trusted and would've followed off a cliff if I were in the lead.

2. BMX bike tricks with friends, failed to clear a jump at the bottom of a hill, at speed. Sling shotting me forward faster than you can blink, over the handlebars. The bike and I did a violent somersault. I flew a good 15-20 feet, end over end, landed gently on a thick lawn. The bike still somersaulting, crashed beside my ribs a half second later. I didn't have a scratch. We all burst out laughing---idiots. Very nearly wound up severely paralyzed or dead.

3. Swan dive down 13 steps, rotating through 70 degrees, down my stairwell. Knew I was dead. Tripped second step from the top, broke my fall with my ring finger and hip/ ribs.

1. Crossed the rail track when train was coming with it's full speed. With less than meter distance realised my blunder and second life.

2. During my first brain surgery had a out of body experience, and saw my surgeons operating on me.

@nightjourney Nothing special about it. I think I just become bit more spiritual.

two come to mind 1) i was on a boat in pitch black where the driver got disorientated. He drove up the bank at speed.

2) i got caught in a storm whilst windsurfing and forced offshore. I ended up making landfall about 11pm at night, totally exhausted.

so times in my unusual life too but i think 3 of them were really deadly , first when my owner forced my head and mouth down in to chilled water and did his work in half drown position and i lost my sense for hours , second our motor van narrowly escaped from a huge land slide in a hill road in south china and third one when those Kenyan dumped me like an garbage bag in side of the garden beside drain unconscious after they treated me like a meat ball and I had to stay in hospital for a week

2. Bitten by a snake when I was 4 and was clinically dead.
3. Electrocuted by touching live wire
4. Was nearly murdered
5. Car accident
6.Two drug overdoses

A tree almost fell on me once.
NotJamieM · 46-50, M
@nightjourney maybe. I honestly thought that tree was gonna land right on me. You never know how you'll react in a situation like that until it happens. I'm glad I didn't just run off, but I don't blame the ones who did -its the "fight or flight" instinct.

@nightjourney haha, this one was huge. It would've hurt. 😣

Btw, I also had lightning strike a tree just outside my bedroom. Scared the crap out of me, and the tree died, lol

@nightjourney my friend was driving on the New Jersey turnpike. I'm in the passengers seat. He didn't notice a sudden backup of traffic ahead and was going too fast. He jammed on the brakes and to this day I have no idea how he stopped in time. I thought we were going to die

@nightjourney yes and yes
Held my breath for too long swimming underwater, then passed out and sank to the bottom of the pool
Was there for about 20-30 minutes
Took near 2 hours to revive me.. was then in ICU for two weeks to get all fluids out of my lungs
Was in a wreck and my truck rolled several times. My seatbelt saved me and I didn't get a scratch👍

@nightjourney Let’s just say in my younger years I was in a lot of situations that could have ended very badly….climbed up on top of a 2-story farmhouse when I was 2 years old because the ladder was standing up against the house and my uncle was replacing a few shingles. Got attacked by a horse when I was 8 years old, kicked in the back, passed out, stomped and pawed and turned over and stomped more. I passed out with the first kick & was rescued by my uncle who said that the horse was acting like an angry bull. I had seizures nearly every day until I was 4 mostly due to my older sister hitting me or kicking me in the head. The seizures stopped after I got electrocuted on a frayed iron cord, it was bad enough I could smelling burning flesh, maybe it was my brain. My headaches that I had daily also stopped. And having a psychopath father was also a great risk, I don’t know how any of us kids survived. He murdered my mother when I was 12 years old, by that time we were living with my aunt & uncle again. There were times when we would go to sleep in back of the truck in the pop-top camper and wake up rolling back and forth like balling balls because he had gotten out of the bar and was drunk driving, swerving back & forth all over the road. The one incident that was truly a near-death experience sounds kind of funny in that it wasn’t something you’d think would cause such a thing. I was getting my ears pierced early one Sunday morning when I was 14 years old….had gone in the bathroom and sat down, my aunt had me hold ice on my ears to numb them and then she cleaned a needle with alcohol and started to pierce my ear. The sound of gristle being torn turned my stomach, hadn’t had breakfast yet & I don’t know if that was a factor but I passed out. Normally me passion out isn’t a big deal seeing as how I had so many seizures and passed out during them. But as I passed out I fell over and hit the side of my head on the wall. I found myself climbing a huge staircase to heaven and then whooshed up rapidly…and saw a huge throne with an angel sitting in it. Communicated without words, it was Michael the Archangel, spend a little time with him. When I came to I heard my aunt crying saying she had killed me, she was pouring cold water on my face. I looked at her and told her no she didn’t kill me. She said I had turned gray like someone who had died. She was the one who delivered me when my mother was staying at the farm and didn’t have time to get to the hospital, and she saw me have seizures many times and never thought I was dying.

*oh yeah I didn’t list being in a motorcycle accident going 60 mph at the age of 19 and doing a somersault and rolling down an embankment. Time slowed down when that happened but I felt very peaceful. My body was numb by the time I stopped rolling and thought I was paralyzed and that thought disturbed me. This didn’t feel like a NDE though. And an emergency landing on a plane, that could have ended badly but didn’t.

@nightjourney thank you….I was shown what pure love was and at a time when I needed something to keep me going. Had lost 4 close relatives within a year and a half. My family was mostly dysfunctional and grieving so much in that space of time was difficult. I have no fear of dying.
