Snooping is probably a bad idea. But my husband & I have always had an open phone policy without it being discussed. It’s natural for us to use each other’s phones when we let our own die. Answer texts, calls, emails or messages for the other person. It’s not even given any thought. There’s nothing to hide so nothing to look for but also no privacy to be worried about breaching. It likely varies couple to couple I’ve definitely seen people cringe when someone has their phone on their hand. They seem anxious that they’ll stumble upon something on there I guess. But I think if someone is going to snoop they need to be prepared for the consequences. Finding out things they may not want to know for example, finding nothing suspicious & hurting their partner for another.
