Wedding stuff

at the wedding now, went out for a meal. but my mum told me that she had to buy the grooms and the best man's suit.... is it normal for the mother of the bride to also pay for some of the groom's stuff as well?
Typically, that is paid for by the Groom's family.

The bride's family pay for anything relating to the bride.

@HootyTheNightOwl thanks! I guess that's true, my mum was sort of upset that she spent it in the way she did and was hoping differently but as people would say c'est la vie
@maturedragon If your mum wanted the money spent in a specific way, then she should have outlined what she was going to pay for specifically instead of paying into a pot.

It's harder to argue about where the money went to if you bought the flowers and paid the photographer or whatever you decided to do with the money.

@HootyTheNightOwl I think it was outlined a while back, but then plans changed I think, I'm sort of out of the loop anyway and my mum was having a rant cause she drank too much tonight. and I'm trying my best to relay what I heard and ask for opinions on the matter. probably none of my business anyway and keep my nose out of it

Only when she's desperate to marry off the daughter. 🤣

Not usually

@exexec cause my mum was saying that my sister was in a huff when she said that would not pay for it and was saying it was normal
