After pressure from Republican Politicians officials at the Tennessee Department of Health have announced they will be ceasing all vaccine outreach programs to children.

This directive isn’t just for COVID-19. It’s for vaccines of any kind.

@Pitchblue And how many children in Tennessee, or any other State, have died from the kung flu? And how many children in Tennessee, or any other State, died in traffic accidents, in the past 18 months?
@sunsporter1649 Why don't you tell me the answer to this open ended question. You must know, right? You wouldn't criticize me for not knowing if you didn't know, right????
As Tennessee fights a surge of delta variant cases and hospitalizations, children have become of increasing concern for health officials and leaders in the state.

On Tuesday, the state's health chief, Dr. Lisa Piercey, said the delta variant is spreading quickly in children, who also tend to show symptoms shortly after exposure. This is significant because it could indicate a much faster incubation time than previous versions of the coronavirus.

The department also projected children's hospitals in Tennessee will be completely full by the end of next week.

Two children died at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis over the weekend. An 11-year-old in West Memphis died on Monday from COVID-19, as reported by The Commercial Appeal.

Children age 10 and under now account for more than 10% of all new coronavirus infections, one of the highest rates of any point during the pandemic, according to Tennessee virus data released by the state earlier this week.

Children represent about 15% of cumulative cases, with most cases among 14 to18 year olds, according to state data as of Aug. 5.

@Pitchblue And of course children never get sick or injured from anything but the kung flu, right?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@sunsporter1649 This is a great self-own sporty, because an influx of covid patients means that there are less resources for others.
@sunsporter1649 Back to car accidents again?? If one child dies in a car accident do 9 more get life threatening injuries? If one child dies of leukemia do 3 more have to go to the hospital for leukemia but not before they infect 15 more kids?
@QuixoticSoul Exactly, any other kid that does get sick from anything else has no hospital bed to go to because the beds are full in Tennessee. So COVID will be killing kids who don't have COVID.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul Just think how many beds would be available if CON laws would not have been implemented back in 1972 by your all caring government

@sunsporter1649 My state doesn’t have any, but yours does - and ultimately that doesn’t make you any less goddamn stupid or wrong.
