Hot take: I'm black and consider myself liberal, and...

I support BLM. BUT. I don't like how the "leaders" of the incorporated organisation are taking advantage of the public's goodwill to end institutional racism and using it to promote other things which are not relevant to the cause. Like supporting oppressive communist governments (I just found out what "BLM" said about Cuba). It's honestly frustrating because some older people who only get their news from cable networks, and bad faith Republicans will think that's what BLM is about, when it's really a movement to end institutional racism in America.

No, it's not.

There is no organization that can make people not be racist. Racism is learned from parents or formed by interactions with people from a different race. (Just my opinion) Honestly it’s a challenge for me as a white male to to not allow myself to feel bias when I’m treated like a white devil in predominantly black neighborhoods. I carry a pistol at work because of I realize white men are targeted in black areas. Black people have obviously faced racism but it’s honestly just as bad now from both sides. You condition people how they treat you based on how you treat them. That’s the best approach n my opinion. I fully realize such an honest response is going to be met with anger but it’s the honest truth. Anyone who doesn’t want honest dialogue doesn’t want real change.

@SW-User this! Apparently some people went ahead to incorporate it, and then started off doing things to advance the cause. But over time as they gained more support they started adding bits and pieces of their own personal agendas

What did BLM say about Cuba?
I understand. The fact that there are several so-called “leaders” with varied and sometimes conflicting agendas apart from that initial objective—stopping the profiling and abuse of blacks by law enforcement—often makes things problematic.

@bijouxbroussard you can already see one of those people I talked about in my post in the comments. They know that the average person with a black lives matter sign in their yard or on their car really just wants to eliminate racism. They know. But the leaders have 'hijacked' the cause, giving people like that opportunities to even be racist and hide under the "BLM is actually a commie organisation".
