Today I watched Samuel L. Jackson in, "A Time To Kill"

I bawled like a baby, such a tragic reminder of our insidious history of racism in this country. Fueled even worse now from Trump's cult of hatred. At least it has both a hopeful and happy ending.

Wasn't it a bit of a controversial ending?
@Kwek00 I didn't see it that way.

@Grateful4you It's been a bit since I saw that movie, but doesn't the father go free?
@Kwek00 Yes, I nearly jumped from my chair, thought it impossible for him to win. Also a surprise of Sam L. Jackson for his departure from his usual Kafkaesque type roles.

@Grateful4you Why did you think it was impossible for him to win?
@Kwek00 I thought the jury was overwhelming in their plan to find him guilty. I was floored.

@Grateful4you I see... I thought your answer would be: "the man killed another man, while everyone was watching... there was no doubt that murder was actually commited and the state doesn't agree with people taking the law in their own hands". I thought that would be the answer honestly, that's also why the jury is taking a controversial position here. Maybe I need to watch it again, not really sure what the complaint was, but yeah...
