I consistently get called White trash by people on SW and elsewhere online. But I'm not even White. I don't look even remotely White.

@TheMisanthropeOtaku: I've never once heard a Japanese person, in fact, any Pacific Asian person at all, referred to as an "otaku." Usually that's a word that is self-given by weeaboo trash who are in denial about themselves.

And how often do you ever hear a Japanese person called an otaku? THIS is what most people know as an otaku.

@TheMisanthropeOtaku: I lived in Seoul in South Korea for 8 months and in Japan as well for 6 months and I didn't encounter much of it.

But then again I wasn't an actual member of society, I was a homeless waif...so that might be why.
