🙄 that’s..an interesting viewpoint. In reality,it’s your job as a father to scrape the means together so your kid can have a head start

@SW-User I chose not to bring an innocent life into this insane world.

SW-User
@istillhaveanameitsrick we would have gone extinct thousands of years ago with that mindset
istillhaveanameitsrick · 56-60, M
@SW-User Well...that would make the environmentalists very happy LOL
hunkalove · 70-79, M
@SW-User And the world would be a better place!

SW-User
@istillhaveanameitsrick they wouldn’t exist though..😂 you do know that natural disasters will still occur though right? The environment will go dark eventually with or without humans but we do have the brain to invent stuff and preserve species when it happens

SW-User
@hunkalove I don’t think so man. We will spread life all across the galaxy one day
istillhaveanameitsrick · 56-60, M
@SW-User first of all, i am referring to bringing children into the world today, it is MUCH different than it was years ago and it is getting progressively worse. I see no end in sight short of the end of civilization. Until that time any children born in the last 20 years and in the future are going to have very difficult lives. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy let alone an innocent child.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
@SW-User Fifty years from now the few people left on this pitiful broken planet will be living in caves and killing each other for a drink of water.

SW-User
@istillhaveanameitsrick that’s just not true man. Life is easy today compared to the dark ages.

SW-User
@hunkalove lol. No they won’t be living like that. Why do you have such an apocalyptic view of the future?
stratosranger · M
Most estimates place our ability to leave the solar system to inhabit other planets in a couple of hundred years. But that is contingent on our current rate of technological advancement and with a zero population growth rate. The latter is not going to happen. We will run out of resources before we can feasibly escape this planet. Sad, but true. @SW-User

SW-User
@stratosranger we will start mining in space before we inhabit other planets. The birth rate is going down (except for india) China officially allows 3 kids per household as of last month

Too little, too late @SW-User
istillhaveanameitsrick · 56-60, M
@SW-User Yes in some ways, but not so much in other ways. The poor had a miserable existence, the elite had it pretty good, this is becoming the norm again today. However i am not talking about the financial aspect. We are being taught to hate each other based upon things that mean very little in the grand scheme. Poor people hate the wealthy because they have more, the wealthy hate the poor because they scream about the wealthy having too much. White people hate black people because...well honestly i'm not sure why but it is true, black people hate white people because they have been told white people are trying to keep them down. Christians hate muslims, muslims hate...pretty much everybody near as i can tell...then throw in the nations hating each other and it just gets much worse. Yes wars happened in the dark ages, quite often as a a matter of fact but they didn't have weapons that could obliterate life over a hundred mile area in the blink of an eye back then.

SW-User
@istillhaveanameitsrick when was all of this any different in the past? Except the weapon part but the key world is “could “. Nuclear weapons are here since the 40’s. When was the last time someone actually used one?
istillhaveanameitsrick · 56-60, M
@SW-User I think the general fear of nuclear war is fading, probably because those weapons haven't been used in so long. Some countries today have leaders who are certifiably insane and some countries have such huge populations that they feel losing a few hundred million might actually be a good thing as long as the politicians live and can claim victory. The hatred has always existed (except maybe the racial part) but it was pretty rare for the people to rise up and fight against one another. Occasionally the poor would rise up against royalty but that too was rare and usually just resulted in another member of the royal family taking over. Furthermore we didn't have a 24 hour news cycle that absolutely loves stirring the pot nor did we have places like this, social media for people to attack one another verbally causing more hatred.

SW-User
@istillhaveanameitsrick the one thing I don’t get about your mindset is your version of life that would be ideal to raise children in. We have a peaceful life compared to any species of animal. Why would momma gazelle give birth to offsprings? The savannah is full of lions
istillhaveanameitsrick · 56-60, M
@SW-User because gazelles do not have the intelligence of humans, they are driven by basic instinct, eat, drink, reproduce, die. That is all they know. Yes they know to fear lions and other predators but they lack the ability to rise above their primal instinct to reproduce...much like many men on this planet today who have no qualms about screwing around and then abandoning any offspring that result, they lack the ability to rise above their instincts as well.

SW-User
@istillhaveanameitsrick humans are still driven by evolution as well. Once you have a kid, your life changes. You feel..full filled. That’s when a man is at his greatest potential because priorities become clear. That’s when a woman becomes a mother. It’s the point of life really. If you choose not to do it,it’s all good but you don’t get to look down on others who follow a normal path in life. It’s really a really self centred viewpoint. You missed out on the magic? It’s not the world’s fault man
istillhaveanameitsrick · 56-60, M
@SW-User Didn't really mean for it to be "looking down on others" though i can definitely see where one would get that idea. I just feel really bad for the children. I don't believe this world will exist in another 10-15 years and i think those years will be extremely miserable.

SW-User
@istillhaveanameitsrick why would it end man? There’s no perfect timing for a kid. We will never stroll around grasslands singing kumbaya because that’s not how the world works. Your issues are on the inside and you just projecting them outward thinking that’s the world everyone is living in.
istillhaveanameitsrick · 56-60, M
@SW-User I believe China, Russia and the United States are going to drag the rest of the world into a war that will end with one side or the other choosing to go out in a "blaze of glory". I believe the fear of the "mutually assured destruction" is gone, China wants to control the Pacific, Russia wants control of Europe (or at least eastern Europe) and the United States wants those same things. I simply watch, listen and read the news. War is coming likely within 5 years.

SW-User
@istillhaveanameitsrick it’s coming every year according to people with similar mindset as yours.
istillhaveanameitsrick · 56-60, M
@SW-User Truth be told i've said many times that my opinions don't mean a damn thing to anyone but me so, i don't even know why i posted this except that i am bored.

SW-User
@istillhaveanameitsrick because it’s Father’s Day and you’re trying to justify your mindset to yourself. That would be my guess
