I know.😔The restaurants are getting bad too. No one cooks real veggies anymore, they just throw raw broccoli on your plate?👎

@Peaches saving on money to hire more workers to cook, maybe they can’t find extra help due to people being on unemployment and not wanting to work

@cherokeepatti Not to mention prices are climbing for food.🙁 It's getting scary.

@Peaches won’t be eating in restaurants if the prices continue rising. Someone I know bought a tire for his granddaughters car to replace a flat 2 weeks ago. Today he decided to buy a second tire of the same brand & size to put on that car and bought it at Walmart.... the price has gone up $11 in two weeks!

I hear that it’s a good time to stock up.

I have seen the opposite around here. The covid shutdown and panic buying did a number on supply, quantity and availability. Seems to be much improved for the past few months. Even paper products and cleaning supplies in abundance.

Yes! I've noticed this for some time now and it doesn't matter which store you go into either.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@QueenandCrown I live in Oklahoma, maybe because we stocked up before there’s not so much panic buying because people are still using up their pantry supplies. I don’t know. Saw an older lady buying 5 gallons of bleach at a local grocery store, they have the best prices. She explained to the cashier that she used up what she had and was restocking.

@cherokeepatti In my part of the world i see no one except a extremely tiny minority stoking up

@Bados I’ve been stocking some pantry foods if it will keep quite a while, canned salmon from Aldi’s is a good price and a good protein food.

That's been going on for a long time where I live, as in all last year. Your name isn't Rip van Winkel, by chance?
Bados · 100+, M
@SW-User Had to google that name. I am well aware of the situation since in my own business it has been happening for a while but supermarkets have been weathering the situation quite well at least until now.
My own people aren't know for rational thought in the best of situation so i am scared about all of this

It’s very real. Globally, the supply chains have been disrupted and continue to worsen. Like said earlier, preparation is key.

It's true. The empty shelves are more common.

haven't noticed that here
