There is a epidemic of lonliness in the USA why is this?

With cell phones, the internet? I'm wondering, are those two things indeed the exact problem?

I think it's from all ages. Though in this case lockdowns don't help either.
@Classified Actually, I think the lockdown had the idiosyncratic effect of bringing people together and creating a sense of community like "We're in the together let's make the best of it"

@Grateful4you That may work for some people, but I think there are a lot who don't get included and find it hard to reach out. 😥
@Classified Having worked and managed people most of my life, I usually have a sense of who those people are and seek to empower them by helping them strengthen individual talents, gifts. I'm quite intuitive by nature and sympathetic I like to make others happy.

@Grateful4you That's great you can help people out like that 😃
@Classified One thing in life I've taught my students when you empower others you are empowering yourself. One professor told if I really want to learn my subject TEACH IT! That led me to learning I actually have a great flair for teaching. Get my drift?

@Grateful4you Yes the few times I teached the material became easier. 😃
@Classified Exactly and retention is far longer. Smart man.

@Grateful4you If you can explain it, you understand it.
@Classified Agreed. The best part turned out I had no idea I had a knack for teaching yet making it funny, I became very animated. Teaching can be great theatre if you forget fearing talking before others and realizing you need the "stagefright" to raise dopamine and be at your best mentally. I became addicted to teaching and wished I had pursued it as an occupation full time.

@Grateful4you Teaching releases dopamine? That's new to me 😮
@Classified It did for me. But I have a stage background and it has the same effect. The downside is that it can become an addiction which is why so many actors turn to drugs.

@Grateful4you The actors are also in an environment where it's accessible. 🤔
@Classified True. I'm pretty much retired now and enjoying a sedate, lazy lifestyle.

@Grateful4you Do you still teach every now and then?
