So far, I like this site better than what EP devolved into about two and a half years ago, with all the censorship. I have only written a couple of stories since joining the other day, and thankfully neither of them has been taken down (yet, lol.) Yes, they are risque, but I have always checked "adult" when I write those types of stories, and they always are in the appropriate groups. EP got to where they were banning and censoring everything, even stories that had been on there for years. I felt I could no longer express myself in the way I had come to value and expect from an anonymous personal experience-based website. Also, even some of my non-adult stories got censored...why?! No wonder EP flopped, they were their own undoing.
It appears, perhaps, that they learned their lesson, though, and now on SW I can post my stories again! I just wish they had the vast number of members EP had, and some of the cute features SW still lacks, but that's okay. I'm just glad to be able to express myself freely again. :)

It's more difficult here I think because there seems to be a more judgemental element to folk here.

@Picklebobble: there are indeed self appointed judges. I ignore them, block them if they refuse to ignore me too. I do remember when EP was wonderful.
I was there for 6 years. I saw it in all its glory and then I watched it get root rot and die. I never used it much as a diary. I know there was the blog feature and a lot of people used it. It wasn't my thing. I guess I'm too scattered to put things in any kind of order. I wrote a lot of stories, poems, shared music with one of my circle members. Shared quotes and jokes. And wrote more stories.
Most of the stories were pure fiction. That was where people started with the judgement. How dare I lie? I'm guessing they are people who have never read a novel or a book of short stories. I never lied. I told a story. If someone commented on it as if they believed it was real, I told them straight out, this is a work of fiction. That's when they'd call me a liar. No. if I was a liar, I would just respond as if it was a true story.
I haven't run into that here, yet, maybe because I've strayed from the fiction and stick pretty much with anecdotes. I also really like this kind of thing. Discussion keeps us thinking critically and analytically.

There is no basis for comparison. Are roses better than pearls? You don't compare two things that have so many differences. EP was ten years old before it shut down. SW is barely seven months old. EP had a million and a half members by April, 2016, SW has barely twenty thousand. EP grew from a support site for disabled people into the social and support site it eventually became. SW is a newly formed social site. EP was great......until it wasn't anymore. SW is still striving for greatness.
